And hopefully this is the end of those lame insinuations that the FIA and Ferrari are the same. ![]() heaven forbid I should besmirch the reputation of the red cars ![]() “The Board considers that if this is the regulatory framework for Formula One in the future, then the reasons underlying Ferrari’s uninterrupted participation in the World Championship over the last 60 years - the only constructor to have taken part ever since its inception in 1950 - would come to a close. “The Board also expressed its disappointment about the methods adopted by the FIA in taking decisions of such a serious nature and its refusal to effectively reach an understanding with constructors and teams. The rules of governance that have contributed to the development of Formula One over the last 25 years have been disregarded, as have the binding contractual obligations between Ferrari and the FIA itself regarding the stability of the regulations. The same rules for all teams, stability of regulations, the continuity of the FOTA’s endeavours to methodically and progressively reduce costs, and governance of Formula One are the priorities for the future. If these indispensable principles are not respected and if the regulations adopted for 2010 will not change, then Ferrari does not intend to enter its cars in the next Formula One World Championship. “Ferrari trusts that its many fans worldwide will understand that this difficult decision is coherent with the Scuderia’s approach to motor sport and to Formula One in particular, always seeking to promote its sporting and technical values. The Chairman of the Board of Directors was mandated to evaluate the most suitable ways and methods to protect the company’s interests.” ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at May 12, 2009 10:21:46 PM] |

Blah-blah-blah-blah-blah-blah-blah-blah-blah!
Toyota and both the Red Bull-teams and Ferrari are all threatening to leave F1. Expected to be followed by other teams. The only teams that are expected to sign up for 2010 under current rule changes are Brawn, Williams and Force India. So not sure what you were trying to say but have fun in 2010. ![]() |

What was I trying to Say ???? Maybe Blackmail " Its my bat and My ball I'm going home" see how you get on with out my engines ? I don't know if thats an option ???? feel sorry for Alonso who maybe had thoughts of going and sitting in Kimis old red car seat should Kimi choose to leave Its the silly season come early Lets get the focus back on the track Me I just have to put my thoughts down the £/$/€ figures are just beyond the realm of my comprehension . Will the Brawn team agree with the governing body ?? they managed to do something with what I suspect a minimum budget this year ... And yes I will enjoy what ever comes out of this for the rest of this year and 2010 having been following the Sport since late 1950,s Lets say I find it interesting |

At this stage I think it's a negotiating position and the meeting on Friday may well finish with a compromise to satisfy everyone.
Certainly it's in the sport's interest to encourage new teams coming in and they cannot compete with the sort of money that Ferrari can throw at the game and, just as Honda did, there's no certainty that the big boys want to pile in fantastic amounts of money when car sales are plummeting. |

And also Renault will leave F1 if the rules won't change for 2010...
And it's not so much about the money , it's about having two sets of technical rules depending if you're within the budget limit or not. This will not be in the interest of racing, rules should be the same for everyone, we know now more than ever. ![]() |

The problem is that Ferrari have the right of veto over any change in the rules so this led to the idea of teams choosing unlimited expenditure whilst, to encourage more independent teams, an alternative if you agreed to an expenditure cap.
As we know from Honda, the big spenders can easily decide it's no longer commercially profitable and so drop out. Lets hope it gets sorted. |

So, stage one of the negotiations still leaves everything possible.
I feel confident they'll all be there in Australia next year. |
