Yeah unless you are a Red Bull, or Seb Vettel, fan you will be disappointed by this race too! Red Bull has certainly found SOMETHING that is making them the class of the field right now! I wonder how long before the FIA clamps down on it and makes them take it off?!!!

I wonder if Speed/Fox can tell the FIA how many others turned the race off before the end? Lack of viewers might encourage the FIA to take some action to stop any cheating going on, assuming there is.

Re: The Formula One Thread

Suprised Dave? laughing
I watched the full re-broadcast of Korea and I could make a good argument that it was the most boring race of the season. Too bad as it is beautifully prepared track that apparently gets almost no use except F1. This was a parade not a race. sad I did like the result though. wink
Hopefully India will be a better show.

I expected a change too Dave. I've never made any money trying to second guess Ferrari though.
Cheers.

Re: The Formula One Thread

Speed tv, which is owned by FOX Broadcasting, has lost the rights to broadcast F1 next year!! NBCSports has won the rights, the same people that broadcast the Tour de France and other racing events, will take over for next year, they have the rights for the next 4 years. Fox is going to a more 'stick and ball' sport theme for their broadcasting and less vehicle based, although they do seem to be interested in keeping Nascar!

As for the Korean race the pointy end of the race WAS VERY boring!! But the 5th thru 12th place positions were where the cameras seemed to be focused and did seem interesting. I wonder if Lewis learned to stop running wide after he picked up some carpet remnants!

Mikey

I heard that Lewis's rear torsion bar failure caused that wayward rear end.

He wasn't letting Perez pass him astroturf or not biggrin

Yeah I think Lewis has something to prove to McLaren, that they made a bad choice in letting him go, AND prove to Mercedes he IS worth the money etc he will be getting from them. As for the torsion bar breaking I am not sure the McLaren's are as good as everyone has thought they were. They have had some big race failures lately as they push towards the finish and TRY to keep up with Ferrari and the Red Bulls! I think McLaren is just nearer to the slippery edge than the other two and any little thing can push them right over it. While Ferrari and the Red Bulls seems to still have a tiny bit of wiggle room left in them. Without any outside interference Ferrari would be leading the WDC with Vettel close behind and Lewis fighting Kimi for 3rd place. Right now Vettel is 1st with 6 points ahead of Alonso and Kimi another 42 points behind, with Lewis being another 14 points back!
Here is a list of the top 10:
POS Driver PTS Behind
1 Sebastian Vettel 215 -
2 Fernando Alonso 209 6
3 Kimi Raikkonen 167 48
4 Lewis Hamilton 153 62
5 Mark Webber 152 63
6 Jenson Button 131 84
7 Nico Rosberg 93 122
8 Romain Grosjean 88 127
9 Felipe Massa 81 134
10 Sergio Perez 66 149

And here is the top 10 for the WCC:
POS TEAM POINTS
1 Red Bull Racing-Renault 367
2 Ferrari 290
4 McLaren-Mercedes 284
3 Lotus-Renault 255
5 Mercedes 136
6 Sauber-Ferrari 116
7 Force India-Mercedes 89
8 Williams-Renault 58
9 STR-Ferrari 21
10 Marussia-Cosworth 0

Re: The Formula One Thread

Rats!!

The worst thing this year about the BBC Coverage (50% live 50% edited highlights)

Is staying away from knowing the result before you've seen it.

And in this modern highly connected world....

$%^$&^%&% !!!!

Not a great deal of point watching it now biggrin

I'm off out instead for some retail therapy
