Re: The Formula One Thread

Rats!!

The worst thing this year about the BBC Coverage (50% live 50% edited highlights)

Is staying away from knowing the result before you've seen it.

And in this modern highly connected world....

$%^$&^%&% !!!!

Not a great deal of point watching it now biggrin

I'm off out instead for some retail therapy

Dave

Yeah India was pretty much same ol same ol! Red Bull locked out the front row in qualifying and Vettel took off and was never seen again! Alonso did end up getting 2nd from Webber as he had Kers problems and lost pace. Webber would have lost 3rd if the race had gone 5 more laps, IMHO, as Lewis was definitely closing in on him. Both Schumi and Perez had problems and had to dejectedly withdraw. DeLaRosa had to withdraw due to brake lockup. NO big accidents this race though!!!! The race WAS exciting at times and at other times fairly boring. Several cars got cut tires from coming into contact with other cars front wings, in some cases it was the guy passing cutting across in front too soon, other times it was the guy behind coming too close.

One thing that COULD be different is that near the end of the race Vettel's car was throwing out sparks from the bottom of his car, IF it was the legality plank rubbing AND it took off too much then Vettel COULD be disqualified. That IS a LOT of if's and maybes and could bees though!! It would sure make the results different though, as well as the WDC points standings!!

Maybe some fine Mercedes engineering might be the answer

I don't think that helped today at Abu Dhabi!! Lewis broke AGAIN and Jensen couldn't hold off Vettel! CONGRATULATIONS to Lotus Renault on their FIRST win on the season!! THREE men who have been WDC were on the podium!!

On a conspiracy level I am thinking Red Bull TOLD Vettel to pull over after qualifying so they could work on the car to compete for the win! If you can't win at qualifying change the car and try to win the race instead! Apparently ANYTHING can be changed if you are willing to start from pit lane!! I smell a rules change coming!!

Re: The Formula One Thread

I, for one, am so looking forward to the first race on this track, F1 back in the USA and finally something in my time zone. wink May the best man/team (you know my preference) win. Much bragging rights to the team that wins the first race here.

Re: The Formula One Thread

I went to my first F1 race today. It was only practice but was very impressive. My ears are still ringing and my clothes smell like engine fumes but it was a great time.

Re: The Formula One Thread

Highlights on BBC2 in Standard Definition at 21:00 GMT which is 3pm Austin Texas Time

3 hours after it has happened

So no real time, free to air terrestrial in glorious HD coverage like last year then biggrin

Whoo .. hoo

I will endeavour not to know that Vettel is on pole for 3 hours today.

Wish me luck biggrin
