Re: The Formula One Thread

Another weekend

Vettel first
Button Second
Alonso Third

Webber doesn't quite make the podium

and Hamilton hits Massa or vice versa

I'm suffering a serious case of déjà vu

I know it must be a different race because Massa got the drive through this week biggrin

Loved it smile

Re: The Formula One Thread

Very good race. Actually it was two races; Vettel on a Sunday drive in the park and everyone else racing each other. wink

peace

And if Webber wasn't mired mid pack we could blame it on the Red Bull cars, but is it Webber's lack of driving or Vettel's driving that has made Vettel uncatchable?! IOW is Webber sandbagging ong pupose or is Vettel that good? If Webber is that bad why do they keep him around then? Why not get a rookie that can learn and soon show Vettel how to drive. Quick Nick scored points for Renault right away then fell off badly enough to be replaced by Senna. How about Hulkenberg? He is good enough to be thought of as a number 2 driver next year why can't he be a number 2 at RBR this year? What about Kimi, he is thinking about Williams for a comeback, wouldn't he put Webber to shame? ORRRR is Webber sandbagging, ie holding back, to not show how good the RBR really is?!!!

ss..hh
Sebastian Vettel's 11th win of 2011 at the Indian GP leaves him two wins shy of Michael Schumacher's 2004 mark of 13. smile

Hello Mikey
I’m not sure what incentive there would be to hold back. With driver/constructor champs decided for the season, 100% effort may be harder though.
This will be an interesting off season in all forms of motor racing. They face problems with drivers, equipment, sponsors and the economy. We shall see what happens in the spring.
Red Bull is an interesting company. They’ve had large profits in the questionably unhealthy but very lucrative “Energy Drink” market and have had huge marketing budgets. Red Bull Racing is one of their flag ship advertising campaigns. They have announced that there are no plans to renew their participation in NASCAR next season. We shall see if the money is redistributed to other racing venues (like F1) or simply disappears.
Cheers
peace

Re: The Formula One Thread

Watching the spectacular Abu Dhabi circuit at sunset in HD is truly a feast for your eyes. I hope the DRS zones can help the sport part of that show in tomorrow's race.
