Re: The Formula One Thread

Rumours around that Mercedes (ex Brawn) are trying to persuade Shchumi to come back to racing.

I thought he was contracted with Ferrari for several more years as a 'consultant'. There were also rumors he was going to be in Jean Todt's Administration of the FIA. Lots of rumors these days, I guess time will tell which if any come true. I do know though that it takes a certain kind of personality to do what those guys do and to walk away as Schumi did means it would be like him to want to come back and prove these new guys aren't worthy as the next generation. And that he could still kick their behinds and win even at his age.

Schumacher not driving for us: Mercedes

Mercedes have played down, without completely dismissing, media speculation that seven times Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher could come out of retirement as Jenson Button's replacement.
"It's clear that there will always be speculation as long as one cockpit is still free," said a spokesman for the German carmaker, who have taken over world champions Brawn, on Saturday.
"And some speculations are nothing but dreams which will not come true."
Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm said she would be surprised if the German came out of retirement at the age of 41.....

F1 film wins prestigious award

The film was nominated in the RTS Craft and Design Awards, and won the Graphic Design - Programme Content Sequences category.
The judges described it as "a slick, beautifully conceived and executed piece of work, with skilful design following throughout".
F1 editor Mark Wilkin and Richard Gort, the producer of the film, were on hand to pick up the trophy.
You can watch the film, and the F1 title sequence, here:

Re: The Formula One Thread

I hope that's true but they're not yet in the line up for next year after BMW dropped out.

Re: The Formula One Thread

On 9th December the FIA World Council will have a meeting to decide about the team tickets for 2010.
I hope that the Swiss Sauber Team will be part of the show next year.

Re: The Formula One Thread

Bernie has announced that Silverstone circuit organisers must work out an agreement regarding the 2010 British Grand Prix by that date or the country will not be included in next year's championship.

The deadline date coincides with the FIA meeting set to confirm the final version of the 2010 Formula One calendar.

Re: The Formula One Thread

It always seems to go down to the wire; Bernie's tactics probably.
