----------------------------------------Will someone please explain to me why I have only 3 badges? Everyone else has got more than me - boo hoo. And where did they suddenly come from anyway?very observant Merle till U spoke up I hadn't even registered them as being there ??? nothing new there then .................... And I've had a look (thought I ought to stop being so wimpish!) and I have done 4 different types of projects - can't think of the right word - and they are all ticked, but I've only got 3 badges. So I'm going stop bleating about it now. ![]() ![]() ![]() Baaaaaaaaaaa ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Jan 16, 2008 8:16:12 PM] |

----------------------------------------Evening all Just think of the badges as bit of fun and some colour on the postings. Must admit MOT's calculations that we would be a good match for a challenge seems to be spot on. Never mind the final result, it's a good bit of fun and have yourself a smashing break Owlie. Badges Fun!!! No no sir they are the first badges I have been given since I made my twist/ Damper in the scouts however having now stitched them equally on each arm of my shirt I am in balance smoothing the passage of my machine I don't know if a spoiler fitted to the rear of the 'putor will speed crunching ??? willing to try anything Little hint for other Edwardians so simple Tuck your trousers in your socks reduce the windage every little helps Merle and Haapi Not sure that this would apply to you working on speed enhancing things for our lady members I will keep you informed ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by densnaps at Jan 17, 2008 10:10:22 PM] |

MY BADGE
My badge is white with a red V, a tasteful splash of colour on my off-white shirt, clean, assertive. I couldn't wear a badge with a message. A badge with a message would be too clear. The faces of people who wear badges with messages blur. They recede, they sag, I need a badge which will complement my face, will match my short hair. A badge with a message is an apology for a brooch. The difference between badges and brooches is obscure but definite. A badge is information posing as decoration, decoration posing as information. The balance is important. People who have to be a hundred things at once need to be roughly classified,to keep their individuality indefinite but precise, like poetry. Badges are an art form of the City Tongue in cheekGood night all ![]() |

Little hint for other Edwardians so simple Tuck your trousers in your socks reduce the windage every little helps Used to do that as a kid to keep the bicycle chain from eating my pants. Of course, the rich kids all had chain guards. As a 6 or 7 year old, "windage" wasn't a concern, but I suppose it was worth consideration. |

Since one of you nice folks -- Baron Samedi -- dropped in to visit our Homebrewers team, I thought I'd repay the kindness, ... but mostly I want to be sure that you all see my very witty
reply. Baron said:The Edwardians are gentlefolk from a by-gone age, an age when people were polite and courteous to each other, and showed respect to the elderly and infirm. ... so I said: Sure ... but can you brew beer? ![]() But no offense intended. I'm just playing around with you all because it's taking so long for your team to catch the magnificent Homebrewers. Cheers. |

Sure ... but can you brew beer? ![]() I do like to drink it by the way, does that count? But no offense intended. I'm just playing around with you all because it's taking so long for your team to catch the magnificent Homebrewers. Cheers. Don't worry we will get there, drink a beer and pass you by. |
