Hi Olivia,

even though it's fantastic that many of the active UD crunchers seem to be finding a new place at WCG, read yesterday a (trusted) note that UD was supposed to have send an email to all the former Grorg members. Several 'Ex' confirmed not to have seen it, including myself! That would have been 1.34 million past and active members thru the last sob, made aware or re-aware of Life Science & Humanitarian Distributed Computing at e.g. WCG.

What reality is, that almost 3 weeks after the 'announcement', about 6,500 additional members joined. With additional i mean over and above what joins normally. A number of the immigrants brought big power with them and a large team shot straight to number 1 in the dailies, but all told, even the last act of UD was not performed according their word.

So, keep the good memories and happy crunching here. If the Grorg was 'awesome', you'll find the new definition of 'truly awesome' here.

Added: That #1 Team joining, will soon also be overall number 1 in the global-global BOINCstats charts. They did almost 1 million BOINC credits a yesterday.... 7 million WCG points.... they surely saw the light of multi core disease squashing money eyes

So good to see the old forum jockies getting their sea legs here. Its a lot to absorb as the old grid was just 1 project and 1 stat to watch, now you need an accountant. But it is good to see people coming out of their comfy zones. this means the recovery of the many so shocked by the closing of grid.org is almost complete. Soon i will be business as usual.

You know, if there is anything i can do to help you along with whatever, my email is always open. I left some notes to evite you here along with JP and others. But in the "crazy time" that followed all those notes got lost in long threads. Im just glad you guys made it.

Good to see you here too. As for a home. Nothing really concrete. I have crunched with the coconuts before so I have kinda drifted that way. I am now on an old old grid team called bloodnet but I know that is temp.

How much you want to bet the people who were supposed to send it out got fired?

I had emailed Mary Bass about starting a newsletter. She told me to get back to her at the beginning of May. Gee wiz, do ya think she knew what was going to happen? Nahhhhh
