I keep away from new OS's. I wait till the bugs worked out. Also, I play online games. So I must watch for hacker holes in the OS, making any new OS a nighmare. I could convert to Vista, but dont dare till they fill in the cracks.

BOINC.exe and boincmanager.exe are 2 different apps. If you install boinc as a service, it will run, whenever your OS is booted. Boinc manager is only for you to see what the boinc client is going. It isnt doing much I can tell you. The boinc client is only for starting up the tasks and report/download them when its needed. You could try to check in the task manager if the boinc client is running in the background or not. |

Any amount of crunching is good! I used to do SETI, but I think the medical research is more important, so I switched. I have never seen ET, but I have had cancer!    |

Zim You wait for the bugs are worked out! ! ! Boy you must be still working on DOS6.22 as I don't think all the bugs have been worked out of any newer MS OS.  I guess you just wait for the largest cracks to get crammed full of puddy, and try to live with an acceptable level or bugs.  |

yes, its' hard crunching with dos 3.20. so it was then I made the big step and converted to win95 last year. it may be a while, but the next big jump will be jump past win98. cant wait!
