Overheating & Cooking parts, summer is here!

Courine, see you have climbed on top of me in the stats, shame but I think you will not be the last. Had to send back the motherboard on my Dual core system for warranty, will probally not get the replacement for a week or more, ya it was crashing a lot, but could still pump out a couple thousand a day. crying

Oh well, when I get it back hopefully I will not have to be reseting it on a regular basis, and loose valuable hours of crunching. smile

Oh well, just doing my weekly peek to see that the results the systems are posting are going to a good cause. Would like to have all the cures in place before I get old and start needing them.

skull Not that living hard and dying young is still not a good policy. skull

Just don't want to go out spending my last days in a hospital bed, would rather be saying "Oh, that was stupid, boy is the ground coming up fast!"

All the best, Keep crunching. wink

Go Team!!!!

I had the MB & parts for my Vista system for several months before I actually assembled it... I was dual booting Vista Beta & RC on this machine and they sucked here too!
If I had waited until I was actually motivated, I could have gotten a better system for the price...but I'd probably have spent the $ on something else and have Vista on this machine still...LOL

applause biggrin 300,000 Humans.biggrin

WCG passes 300,000 humans! biggrin More importantly though, they have passed the 645k device mark. This is the theorectal point that would assume the transfer from grid.org to WCG is almost complete. The rate of about 400 humans a day is slightly higher than the average but does reflect an increase of about 100 a day still in transit. The only problem is that the stats relecting overall power is only about 80% of what had left grid.org on apr 26. But this may be caused by conversion rates between here and there when it comes to power need to complete similar work. When the 650K mark hits, it will assume that only ~200 a day will be joining. Then we will see +/- about 7% considering agrogate erro, how much was lost based on original estimates.

biggrinOh and my 200th post! biggrin

its a 3800+ x2 with 2GB of RAM against the smallest 6320Core2Duo with 1GB of RAM....

Hi courine, all of you.

As a Grid refugee, I joined wcg. Had about 1.000.000 points (hopefully not waisted). Noticed here some nice 'ancient' grid members, so I joined this team with sympathy for all of you.
