Sek, I know the Techs will be busy chasing this issue down, but if possible could you ask if there is someway of determining which Wu's are affected? That was I can manually delete them from my work queues, which have several hundred GC tasks pending. I don't want to scrap them all, neither do I have the time to wait for them all to go into indefinate loops.... Many thanks, Jonathan. Suggest you put the 'suspect' jobs in suspend.... deactivate GC in profile or you might get more. Unfortunately, the latest BOINC versions will still see the jobs in queue and WCG will not fetch new work. At least abort the looping ones so a job trickle albeit smaller remains.

Ole, I've replied to your post 3 up to which you replied, so we cant rewind anymore. You can only edit it (little pencil next to post title).... remove the text and insert a reference to my post below yours.
----------------------------------------Your last post i did not reply to, so you can delete that (unless Jonathan replied to that :(. Than I delete mine, and all is as if nothing ever happened :D

The proper way to cancel the WCG (UD) Agent job is to go to taskmanager and find the WCG executable like wcg_fcg1_ssearch.exe and terminate that. That ensures that the bad result is reported. Ah, good to know. I learn something every day ![]() The last 4 Genome units sent me in the last 10-12 hours were bad, if the tech geeks want to know. Device IDs 243995, 499569, 499570 and 533603. For all those who care... my system has been running just over 8 hours now and is at 0%.
----------------------------------------running... Genome Comparison v1.0.0.10 United Devices 3.0 (2844) Device ID 347381 Sorry I don't remember how to find the work unit. Oh well maybe I found it... Process in Task Mgr = ud_11516429.exe and the wcgrid_fcg_... process is pegged. And something curious, when I went to take Genome Comp out of my preferences I found that it was not selected... my guess is that it was universally taken out until the problem is fixed. Thanks [Edit 1 times, last edit by jholdren at Mar 20, 2007 2:37:26 PM] |

There are several places where u can select a project. Higher level "My Projects", lower level, "Device Profiles". Latter overrules the first, but if u change My Projects, ALL the devices get changed in one fell swoop.... that's handy for multi device members or 'Farmers' who manage hundreds or thousands of devices

I have temporarily stopped sending out fcg work until we look at this in more detail. Thanks for your patience.

When you people decide to clog up the drain, you don't mess around! ![]() You know the concept of DIRFT? Do It 'Right' the First Time (Every Time) It will come right as always, but always at the wrong moment (Murphy), since HDC is closing up.
