Hi,
This may be a bit premature but it appears the latest WU's appear to be behaving differently. Usually I expect to see the %age complete increasing from 0% after a few minutes. I have 3 machines that downloaded new units this morning - all of them have these new WU's at 0% after 40 mins (9 WU's in total). The graphics screen shows sequence 0 sequence 0 0% complete in all cases. WU numbers are all in the 1440's+. Example WU's are 10001426-10001453_2 10001441-10001453_1 10001446_10001451_2 Anyone else having probs with these? Jonathan |

My unit working on Genome Comparison v1.0.0.10 is also stucked at 0% after having worked on it for 1 hour an 40 minuts.
I don't know thw WU numbers (how do I find these?) but I am using Agent Version 3.0 /2844) on a pc where I have dedicated 10 gb of storage to the job. The pc's overall performance is 216 so I would expect it to have crunched at least 1% after one hour Is there a way to continue working on another unit until the erroneously work units have been corrected? /Ole |

Same problem here. 7 machines, 4 stuck at 0%. I've removed Genome Comparison from my list until this is fixed.
Didn't check numbers or anything, just deleted all work and restarted UD. |

Okay, I came up with a wrong solution on how to remove errorneous WU's. Sekerob was so kind to post the correct way of doing this, so please se his answer below.

The proper way to cancel the WCG (UD) Agent job is to go to taskmanager and find the WCG executable like wcg_fcg1_ssearch.exe and terminate that. That ensures that the bad result is reported. If u delete files, the result does not get reported, WCG wont know its bad and send a new copy to someone else to crunch after the due date has expired (several weeks). The agent after the termination will fetch a new job, but if it happens again, take GC out of the device profile until the all clear is given.
----------------------------------------For BOINC it's easy, as a job can be aborted in the Task tab and being reported as such. Meantime, I've checked in an alert with the technicians!

Sek,
I know the Techs will be busy chasing this issue down, but if possible could you ask if there is someway of determining which Wu's are affected? That was I can manually delete them from my work queues, which have several hundred GC tasks pending. I don't want to scrap them all, neither do I have the time to wait for them all to go into indefinate loops.... Many thanks, Jonathan. |
