Re: Gold Silver Bronze

I had about 30 days of beta but appears still a day or 3 short of 5 years.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

I also had a couple of betas come out of validation, not sure how many days it equated to, but 31 pages of valids plus another 3/4 page still in PV and one resend currently in progress should give me a day or two.

Shame some of my cores are still down until winter, I could've used the extra days. Unlike you, I'm still about a year and three quarters away from the 5 year beta badge.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

I'm still 92 days short of a sapphire badge for Beta though. Jealous of widdershins.

I wouldn't get too jealous, that badge is mainly the result of some mercenary beta unit hunting back in the day. wink WCG has gotten a bit less easy going about dishing out betas these days. No more beta tests lasting months, only 1 unit per core, and so on.

If this had been a month long test under the Marquess of Queensbury rules like we had 10 years ago I'd be on at least a 20 year beta badge by now. biggrin

That said, I probably could have increased my haul by various means, but couldn't be doing with the hassle, or spending that much time on it at present

My oldest computer has one thread per core, but the newer ones are all 2 threads per core. They sent us a couple rounds of one beta per thread. It may not be like the old days, but not bad compared to the last few years.

I got my 20 years for MCM today and will stop it there. MIP is the next one to kick up. It is 15+ I will stop the long running ones at 10 years. I would rather have a few more results. If the fast running programs all get 20, they can have more. One of the Climate projects died because the guy running it left Far Eastern U. for someplace else. Another one may start up next near.

This SCC beta got a few people talking. Regular crunching has started.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

So, I was interested in seeing who in the team is contributing how much relatively to the totals we've got going in. Since the admins did the GDPR purge and got rid of many of the old contributors, we have 31 members remaining on the team listing. Of those, the following 15 are still submitting work.
The work submitted was measured over 30 days from September 15th 2020 to October 14th 2020.
Data sorted by relative contribution, highest first.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

That is an interesting chart that might be good to see every now and then, especially if there is a member change.

We do what we can but can't really advertise anywhere except in our own team thread. It isn't fair to say things in other team threads either. I don't want to steal from other teams, but there should be some way to attract members not on teams. There's no penalty for joining. It just adds the points, run time and results to the team total.

pistaccio has been around since 11/30/2004 and still contributing.
lupulinphile was the newest member, contributing a full time thread on the average.

I'm getting there, with my 2nd 20 year badge. I stopped those two at 20. Africa Rainfall Project and Help Stop TB are long runners, so I will stop those at 10 years. I would rather have more results. I am working on mostly stop childhood cancer and will stop it at 20 and just open up the covid project and let it run. We may get another new one in 2021.

I traded in my slowest CPU and added some power this year. Some of the early AMD computers ran hot and didn't last long. My two Ryzens seem quite good so far.

SCC is out of work until they decide what they want to do and make more, so I opened the floodgates for Open Pandemic.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

I traded in an Intel i7 with 8 threads for another Ryzen 7 game machine with 16 threads.
Some early AMD ran hot but these are quiet and stable.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

Just added a 10 core / 20 thread Core i9 beast to my inventory, pushing my thread count from 18 to 38. Still nowhere near retsof's total, should be only just behind widdershins though, unless he's added some recently.

Will be wiping Windows from the old Core2 Duo at some point, I'm going to stick some flavour of Linux on it and use it as a Samba domain controller to give us all roaming profiles on the Windows machines.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

good deal on the 20 thread beast.

I may try my two Ryzen 7s out on GPU to see how they do since they have game machine graphics cards. I saw an announcement for a GPU beta.
