applause Re: Show Your Processor Score

Couple of points:
1) If you wish to get the most of Dual Core machines, you need to run at least one BOINC unit along with the WCG/UD agent since only one WU will be processed at a time with the WCG/UD agent regardless of the number of processors or cores. BOINC will let you run as many WUs simultaneously as you have processors/Cores.

2) This Thread is pretty much run its course in that most progress will now be made in the Multi-processor or Multi-core arena. For that reason I will no longer keep up the spreadsheets over here .

By the way, the spreadsheets have now been updated with information previous to this post.

Kind Regards to all.

Re: Show Your Processor Score

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Dual Core 2.2Ghz)
ASUS A8N-SLI Delux mobo
1024 MB RAM
300GB Sata 150
Cable Modem
Overclock ASUS (+10%)

My Score is 146, although I think that it doesnt take into account the fact that I have one of the fastest processors on the market (probably just looking at raw clock cycles 2.2ghx, instead of the crunching power of the AMD64x2).

Runs Cool and Quiet, esp compared to my sh1tty Pentium 4s

Re: Show Your (UD) Processor Score

There's another thread for show-offs in the BOINC department shhh

PS. Not sure who kept a spreadsheet for comparisons, dagorath?, where he last wrote he'd collected 800 or so in a spreadsheet.....there's now one for the BOINC as well, but only for once up-market confused

Just a thought. If you really want to get the most of your multi-core machines why not use BOINC exclusively. Since BOINC uses all available cores (granted you have the right settings in your device profile), there is no need to run the UD agent. Setting BOINC to run on your multi-core machine is hassle-free compared to running BOINC and UD at the same time. You only need to monitor BOINC.
