The snow is so deep the squirrels are able to jump up to the feeders past the squirrel baffles. So today I went out and shoveled snow away from the bottom. I will see if it helps. The woodpeckers are really eating a lot of suet. It's been a tough winter for them.

Now weather has turn to It's Raining Men -season.....---------------------------------------- Quite crappy on that matter that designing rules requires that roof can carry at least 44 pound per square foot, so you could use roof as parking lot here. I will be glad when spring gets here. Nice weather lately but probably 1 more snow storm before mother nature puts winter away. Wouldn't break my heart if no more snow this season. Just hope the flooding is minimal this year.----------------------------------------

Unless I get a new job that pays 10 to 20K more than I'm getting now I will be at the status quo for the foreseeable future. I'm also getting into digital photography and the lenses are as much as a new i7.

I edit video on my mac and stop for a few hour, then turn boinc back on. The gear is expensive. Am actually selling my panny HMC 150 so I can get a cannon 5 mk II. I hear the video is pretty good as well as the photo capabilities.

I bought a Rebel t1i with a canon zoom ef 100-400 1:4.5-5.6 lens for my bird watching. It too does awesome 1080P video!---------------------------------------- edit: Referring to my super crunching days being over; I used to run boinc at the company I work for until they put the kibosh on it. Money saving and all that noise. I used to do a million points every month or so. edit:here is the lens and where I buy all my photo gear. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/162616-...mm_f_4_5_5_6L_IS_USM.html [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 2, 2010 4:14:51 AM]

Ouch! Definately the price of a nice computer. Nice zoom though. Once I sell my cam, will start researching lenses. B&H Photo is a great place to buy this stuff. Got my last 3 cams from there.----------------------------------------

Ouch!!!!!!! I had an unexpected power outage in the barn. I had five systems up and running in there. Two of them have developed problems of unknown origin in recent days and I think I will have to rebuild something when I get some time. But now the three remaining P4 3.4 ghz systems will be out of action until I figure out what caused the power problem. I think the P4 1.5 ghz system shorted out because it was getting real flakey lately, but that is just a guess. I have a feeling I should retire it anyway, as I have replaced several items on it already, PS twice, 2nd HD, cpu fan. It had a good and useful life. ---------------------------------------- Cheers
