Re: Resuming Human Proteome Folding 2 this weekend

Been running 5.4.11 for quite a while now. Nothing on this from the admins. I would guess that this would be pretty high on their priority list. I'll presume that they're busy getting it ready though it ought to be about time for that big confab they were due to have this month.

My BOINC client did not receive any HPF units in the last few weeks. Is this exclusively for UD?

Re: Resuming Human Proteome Folding 2 this weekend

Hello cio_redulla,
The only announcement for HPF2 specified UD-only. Since then we have put Genome Comparison on all our platforms and Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy on UD-only. And celebrated Christmas / New Year's Day with plenty of vacations for the staff. So HPF2 is not on BOINC yet.

Re: Resuming Human Proteome Folding 2 this weekend

If you follow the link in Sek's post above, you'll see the latest on the HPF2 BOINC beta. This is the second beta. The first started on 4 Dec and ended the next day as a number of problems were found. On 17 Jan, beta 2 was announced. Two days later, an update was posted:

We are sending out a few more workunits so that we can test a complete gene (we need 30,000 structures per gene). Once those results are complete, then we will validate that set of data to confirm the accuracy of the data.

Basically, a week and a half later, I would expect that those "few more workunits" have gone out and been crunched and it's down to a matter of "validate that set of data to confirm the accuracy of the data". Not sure how long that could take. The outlook sounds good though.
