Thanks |

Probably if u look at the time-line of Beta testing for FAAH graphics in BOINC to general release, u have a good indication, ruling out any major issues. Since some things will have been learned from the first Graphics to BOINC hookup, it might even be sooner than later.

when the graphics for the boinc version of hdc will be ready? We have just had another Beta test run for HDC graphics. So the answer is - when all the bugs are fixed.Shouldn't be long. Lawrence |

Reference knreed's announcement today and coming back to earlier posts where one observed 1.4m picture files being downloaded in a test for BOINC (not beta), is there an option or would it be considered an option, to not send any glossies across..... yesterday did 14 HDCs, meaning 20mb file transfer. Seems to me an awful lot of bandwidth waste to those not interested.... at least a portion of the 400,000 mb daily could be saved just for those running on BOINC.

For HDC, the work unit IS the image. HDC works by running filter banks on the high resolution PNG image scanned from the tissue sample. As far as I'm aware, no additional image is supplied for the purpose of displaying the graphics (except for the background).

hmmm yes, i think we sorted that answer 2 months before.....silly me...... Got the first HDC 5.11....seems there's only 1 extra smallish file, one off. If the actual WU PGM file is integrated into the graphics, it's great!

Forgot to PS,
----------------------------------------Since this is a new version 5.11 of HDC, the firewalls need training again for some and the Threadmaster Throttle settings as well for those using it. cherio

Just kicked up the first HDC 5.11 on BOINC and looked at the graphics. Read already about some of what it does and not compared to the UD agent version which looks terrific when run on there.
----------------------------------------What we know 1. No pink square moving around the main object. 2. The Graphics moving around when in an expanded window like in a screen-saver 3. Little blueish pills for every 10% in progress bar. 4. Masks in circles, left hand top looking similar to the UD Agent version. but, a. The main object looks poor, like burned charcoal Latest nVidia WHQL drivers.... 128mb video ram. Could someone post an image if different i.e. a. looking better. Have played around with resolutions between 800 - 1200 to see if anything improved, but it remains the same. The Beta forum section makes no indication of the cell-structures looking poor. Device is 34409. thx

Sekerob,
The image being displayed is as it is read in. Some look whiter than others, but some will show up dark (charcoal). I have seen both while testing. Hope this helps, -Uplinger |
