Posting this in the hope that an admin catches this in the next hour....
One of my systems will be offline for the next 4 days. I aborted a number of wus as they would miss their reporting deadline, but as a result of this I'm now restricted to downloading a paltry 4 wu's a day. The system in question (Device ID 27836, named Extreme), is capable of 30+ hdc units a day - so I'd hate to see it idle. Could someone kindly put the wu limit on this back up to 80 so I can grab some work? Many thanks in advance, Jonathan. |

You probably figured this already, but next time, if u wish to load up on WU's prior to an extended off-line period:
----------------------------------------1. Suspend the WU's that can't be returned in time 2. Load up on a fresh batch 3. Once obtained, cancel the WU's of 1 and hit update to confirm with servers. 4. Commence trip/aob It is good practice to cancel WU's before point 4, that would otherwise expire and cause extra copies to be send out belated. This way the extra copies are send out early, so that quorum is achieved the swiftest possible / without delay. Hopefully the techs will see your message, but if urgent, suggest u use the Contact Us mail link and explain your case.....I'm sure the techs will accommodate your request if their is enough work for HDC available.... otherwise switch temporarily onto the tripple long FAAH. ciao

Thanks Sekerob!
Had already done that - was just trying to fill the slots vacated by the (aborted) Wu's - and forgot about the wretched error detection process). Got nearly enough to keep my laptop busy for a few days anyhow. Ciao! |

If I will be out more than a day, I will set BOINC to not accept new tasks at about the same time ahead as the number of days in my queue. Near the end, optionally, I will reduce the network days to a fraction and accept a new task if I just need one or two more to run before I go. Close new tasks again. Ideally, the queue should be empty before I leave and everything can finish.
----------------------------------------When I return, it's time to change the network days to whatever it was, accept new tasks and download some new stuff. The daily quota did not change.
