Re: memory consuming with wcg

Dr. Phil, see other thread in the Help Defeat Cancer section on this http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=9085 ....yes and that is not even the highest...902,912kb was my Peak...the more ram u have the more HDC tries to grab. Something is in the works with future BOINC to cap it per user options......which will slow it down of course, but i'm not concerned with that, since the process is supposed to be unobtrusive. Different machines, different experiences is a fact.

cheers.

Re: memory consuming with wcg

Hi Phil,
HDC used to run in 1.2 GB, but we cut that down while boarding it for the WCG. Which is why the minimum required memory is only ( laughing ) 750 MB. If you watch it closely, you will see that it varies by hundreds of megabytes, depending on just where it is in the program. The minimum requirements at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq are not just for show.
