Lawrence,
----------------------------------------excellent tip this Belarc.....ran it and was advised one August 10 revised critical patch on remote code execution was missing Article ID : 920214 Last Review : August 10, 2006 Revision : 2.0 (WAU does not tell me anything right now...) does not tell of any stealing of ram for video... should not, as the GPU has 128mb! Their benchmark on this XP pro is only 2.5 out of 10 In your other post u linked to a to me unknown 'agent paused' page...long shot, but it had this in it: Windows XP Service Pack 2 introduces a feature called "Data Execution Prevention" which can cause the World Community Grid agent to give the "agent paused" message after the server download. Until we find a way to correct this problem, you can work around it by turning this feature off for the UD.exe program in the WorldCommunityGrid installation directory. Go to Control Panel-> System-> Advanced-> Performance Settings-> DataExecutionPrevention. Either disable DEP for all programs or add the World Community Grid Agent in the list of exceptions. Click on ADD, and locate the UD.exe program within the install directory, the default being "C:Program Files\WorldCommunityGrid\UD.exe". Click Apply. Then reboot so that the new setting takes effect. Until we fix this problem, you will need to repeat this process if we update the WorldCommunityGrid agent. We announce these updates in the news area of the member area forum. Added: Very few tweaks were needed to bring it up to 6 of 10.... now what next. ciao

Hi Lawrence,
The application view gives me a popup saying 'there is no graphic to view at the moment' The only thing i notice is that the minimum requirements say 550Mhz CPU and this computer is only 500Mhz, but then it was working before.... I dont have enough RAM for the cancer project, but that is disabled in the device profile. Cheers Chris |

Hello clong,
The FAAH requirements say: At least a 550MHz Intel Pentiumâ„¢ processor or equivalent. So your computer does not meet the minimum requirements for any active projects. Personally, if I had this happen I would download BOINC and choose some other project such as SIMAP. One of the benefits of BOINC is that it offers a variety of projects. This way you are not stuck with only the available WCG projects. Lawrence |
