Old Farts. LOL
----------------------------------------You cheeky young whippersnapper. At the last count we age from 12 - 61. I'm just a youngster soon to be 39. OK fair cop I'm an Old Fart, my kids agree with you Ripcat. I still listen to Radio 1 so I can be hip and get down with the beats. But every now and again the call of Radio 4 my pipe and my slippers becomes too much to resist. For those who are unlucky enough to not be barraged by the bbc he's a link to "live Streaming" http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/ tut The youth of today Dave |

David McCartney I like your idea
----------------------------------------Do computer manufacturers still do burn ins? If yes, maybe the techies can figure out a way to use WCG as the burn in. One of our team members fixes PC for friends and family instead of receiving any payment he asks them to run WCG instead. All to a good cause Dave |

Toms Hardware ran a stress test on AMD and Intel Processors they chose to run 3DMark as a way of getting that processor load. They had these systems running for days
----------------------------------------I did email them to ask if it could be changed to WCG No Response You can but try |

Maybe it's not so much a case of "get more people!" than "get more computers!" because from what I see, many educational institutes like schools have entire computer labs with hundreds of mainstream or better computers sitting around doing meager stuff like word processing and internet surfing. If the computer departments of said schools can be persuaded to run wcg on idle time in the computer labs (whenever say students have a computer lesson, and programs in these lessons typically don't take 100% CPU power), the output of the entire "cluster" can eventually be enormous.
eg: If a school in my neighbourhood did that, what home user could single-handedly beat 200 p4 computers? |
