Thanks Matt for letting me know winters on the way.lol Just 5 more years of this and I'm heading south. I've had enough snow and enough humid summers to last me a lifetime. Going to move to Georgia when the kids finish up with High School. My youngest only has 5 more years of school and then I can say goodbye to the cold winters and hot humid summers. He hee - sorry Large - I only just noticed this. Yep - we have had Christmas stuff in the shops for a few weeks now! Mind you, I was in Heidelberg a couple of weeks ago and they had a lovely all-year round Christmas shop! |

Matt, there should be an ice hotel in Rovaniemi (in the winter of course  ). Ice bars and hotels are not uncommon in the winter. Not sure how or who to contact though. If nothing comes up on the web, a good tactic is to invest in a phone call. The local Chamber of Commerce works well for finding things in the US. A big ski town like that should have some sort of tourist bureau or such. If they can't make the reservation for you, they would hopefully be able to point you to the right contact.I'm on the case as we speak, Keith. Have been looking at all sorts of great activities. Can't wait for Christmas now! |

Hi Matt,
Christmas already! lol Around here we have Thanksgiving and Halloween stuff out. The stores aren't quite ready for the Christmas stuff yet. They want to make a big profit on the other stuff first. Day after Halloween look out because here comes Christmas. The adds will start popping up like crazy. We have huge and I mean huge sale the day after Thanksgiving. I think our town grows by about 1/2 million people just to hit all of the sales. It gets CRAZY that day. Thank goodness I have to work the day after Thanksgiving otherwise my wife would have me out there with the rest of them! LOL |

Actually, the stores will start putting out their Christmas stuff next week after Labor Day. Only the slackers wait beyond that!
