You'll need to get that P4 out sooner than you think if you're wanting to gain a place or 2 EVERY day! Darn, I was hoping to save electricity. Yeah, electricity is more and more expensive nowadays. ![]() Fuel prices going up... so did the electrcity bill. My brother calculated that it takes $65 a month to run a computer 24/7 at home. 3 computers = almost $200 more to the electricty bill. Well, my idea on this is, help within my means... if it means I'm going to have to pay afew hundred more on power just for 2 more computers to crunch maybe 3 work units a day each.. I'm not that crazy about number crunching. One is enough. |

Hi all, I am back too. Things are pretty hectic so I'm not sure that I'll have much time to spare here but at least I can put my crunching towards MOT. Should hit my first half million in the next couple of days.
----------------------------------------Welcome back to Orca too. Good to see all the accomplishments! Spikey, I like what you've done with the website, especially the "wrappers" that let you see the forums and gallery from it. I hope Dave is recovering well. Orca, there's been several discussions about the electrical cost of crunching in the forums here. Have a look around. If your brother is right, your cost to run three computers will cover my entire monthly house bill in the middle of summer. ![]() |

Of course, in local dollars, not US XD BOINC really tops the charts... yesterday, owing to a room renovation, my computer was off the whole day, yet I saw the highest point rise in my crunching history! Hi Keith and guys. Orca - fuel and energy prices are climbing steeply here as well. We pay about 98 pence per litre for UL petrol at the moment (It is over a pound if you buy on a Motorway Service Centre). What is it retailing for in Singapore? |

What is it retailing for in Singapore? That's a good question; I don't drive, so I wouldn't know XD Singapore is the 3rd largest oil refining centre on the world... wouldn't be surprised if fuel is actually cheaper here than elsewhere because of economies of scale. But it sure is higher than neighbouring countries because we don't have extensive government fuel subsidies. |

Man, we need more members. We're gaining on IBM corporation, but unless we have another 7k points per day, we're going to be overtaken fast in less than a month.
Um, by the way, graham, where did the autumns go? They're retired o.O |
