Things seem to happen here quickly.
Flange, my comments weren’t directed at you for the most part. Personally I’ve never even seen your edits before Tony’s admin letter. My comments came after I saw a blast from Dave B that was joined be Graham then it suddenly disappeared. Not locked but totally can’t find the thread disappeared. Believe me your locking of that thread is a turcery issue if that for me. What’s bothering memost is as admins your suppose to be above the petty squabbles but I am finding more and more that you all are the reason for them and not in a good way. You as a group incite things then shut them down. From the outside that seems unfair and that’s why I opened my thread. Plane and simple I wanted to know whats going on. I have no other place to come but to the forum. Your closing my thread seemed very arbitrary as did your closing of Tony’s thread. You did not direct me to another thread where my question was answered nor did you post an answer that I could use. Instead you simply closed my thread leaving me to wonder what’s going on. I am sorry if I caused you problems it was never my intension. |

but 3 of the member nasties have apparently spewed in several threads and left WCG since they didn't get their way. Things like this are what I am talking about. As an admin you need to be above this not further inflaming the issues. I met Tony and Red HERE and I like them. Calling them names does not help WCG in any way. As WCG's face here you just gave them a black eye. |

Man when are you guys going to let this go
----------------------------------------It's old news why keep reposting the same old .... If this thread is closed down you'll only keep cut and pasting the previously answered post like it's being ignored or something We hear what you have said we have taken it onboard. How about a little forgiveness here on the World Community Grid. We all make mistakes and some of the bile posted in this thread (and the many others including many a team thread) about an incident that happened close on 3 weeks ago is far far worse that the initial misdemeour which frankly is water under the bridge. It was dealt with people said sorry posts were edited as such and there wa a request for us to be friends Now please for crying out loud can we move on This is just plain tedious and boring now There are many other reasons for us to be collectively happy rather than revelling in the miserable back stabbing that seems to be what you "enjoy" here. While you are all here worrying over some meaningless scrap like a bunch of Hyena's you are going to miss the important stuff like with a bit of luck we'll reach 30,000 years of crunching either at 00:00GMT or 06:00GMT tomorrow Now that's something to be proud about, something we all achieved together. Not this storm in a very small tea cup. Night folks Dave ![]() |

We?
----------------------------------------I never knew you were part of WCG and if your are I still see you and flange inflaming things so how have things changed? My issued happened yesterday not in the far past. As for anything positive in your post your the VERY first one to even come close to saying it's been heard by the admins. I would have been VERY HAPPY to see ONE POST or even been directed to a post that said WCG heard and understood. It's all that would have I needed. In fact if you would please post where WCG has stated they understand I will read it and shut-up right now. Where is it? [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Feb 11, 2006 8:20:23 PM] |

Apologies Pond Scum
----------------------------------------Some folk have been crying wolf once too often and so I'm having difficulty in seeing the whinge for the whinge. You are complaining about a complaint that was locked that's your complaint. I'm with you now The initial matter preceding your complaint about a complaint was dealt with here http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=5246 As you can see that thread now has the title "Okay Let's be friends" It happened a while ago now and most of us have moved on. So if you wouldn't mind can we let it be? Right onwards to 300 (Slight edit factor of 10 out) Centuries of crunching together Dave. p.s. As a former team captain of a team that got to 3rd in the World, former Community Admin, formerly with a pseudonym of Samuel Clemens (CA). Currently 476th with 808,679 points paid from my own Electric Bill and then there's my 2 Daughters PC's under the same roof not doing too badly either. I've been here since the launch of the Grid on the 16th November 2004 and posting under my Real Name, check my Deed Poll Certificate . I have campaigned tirelessly throughout for a great forum and great support from IBM..Do you think I qualify to have an opinion on this matter? Just wondering Dave ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by David Autumns at Feb 11, 2006 9:53:24 PM] |

David
----------------------------------------I must take issue with you here. As I tried to explain in our long exchange of E-mails last night, the posting you should be looking at is here here This was the second time that David Bell has caused outrage with his postings not withstanding his posts under other names. Since then it has emerged that David Bell, is also Lewis Carroll. This puts a difference perspective on events. Community admins are here to help and guide this forum, nothing more and nothing less. In making that posting he abused the position that had been given to him. If somebody abuses a position of trust, in any walk of life, then they should be called to account. This is why I called for David Bell's resignation as a C.A. Everybody please note I am not asking him to leave the WCG. Mr. Bell as far as I am aware has not apologised to Johnny Cool or shown, at least pubically any contrition for his actions. Johhy Cool in a private E-mail to me earlier today is still so upset by the turn of events that led to me and fellow members of Team Seychelles leaving the WCG, as a direct result of the actions of Mr. Bell and his fellow CA's, including yourself, has deleted the WCG software from his computer while he considers his position. Johnny is a well respected member here, which is why David Bell's post caused such a furore. Now don't get me wrong I admire the friendship you have shown to David Bell. If he had been on my team I would have probably offered the same support, the first time it happened, but not the second. I will not labour on the abuse given to me by the Community Admins, many off whom are members of Team MOT, which was way over the top. I have made my feelings on this matter known to the WCG administration. David, everyone here, and I include myself, acknowledges and appreciates the the imense contribution you have made to the WCG. I hope that was shown to you in the postings and private e-mails that were sent to you when you "retired". Now please let the matter drop, until the Project Manager has reviewed the facts. As for Mr. Bell I hope he will read this and resign as an Admin or at the vey least post an apology to the many he has greatly offended. Now everybody, please let the matter rest until the administration has had time to consider these events. If they do not respond then the floor is open to you. So this really is a witch hunt
----------------------------------------You won't let it lie until you've had the scalp of a good man I have asked for forgiveness to prevail but that has come to nought. You set him up and have bayed for his blood ever since. To the decent crunchers quietly giving to this great cause I'm sorry the 12th February 2006 is a sad day instead of the day we celebrate 30,000 combined years of crunch together. Nite Dave ![]() |

Flange,
My apology for being late in posting, but we had a Birthday today. Your answer quoted to my question was... "There was this big flap about real names. The forum rules say not to use real names. I saw this sentence, and wondered who us was. I tried some wordplay. There are also members them, it, she, those, him, new, old, something, nothing, never, name and noname. Nobody liked my response. After some personal attacks, I locked it and dug up an Ivan the Terrible avatar, since I am the worst CA here." I believe the "I tried some word play" was in asnwer to my question, if so thank you. In my opinion the word play wasn't funny, it came across as imflammatory and then to have the thread locked by the same CA was just as imflammatory. At the time the post was made it was at least bad timing, and coupled with the link error looked even worse. If this was all a big misunderstanding, then so be it, but it didn't at the time look that way to me. No flame intent ment, just voicing my opinion. Thank you for your attention to this question. Best regards, Rick |

Quick note before I begin.
No Dave it's not a witch hunt for everyone but a lot of us still have questions. Now. Thank you for your apology. They do go a long way and giving me some background took it even further. As far as admins using another name to post I think it's a good idea. Admins have too much power to say some of the things in the way they are saying them. That should be left to your user persona and no one should be able to tell which admin you are by the way you admin. If they do then words like nasties, sorry posts, bile, gang just fan the flames and no one has the moral grounds to stop it. Admins become seen as bullies not because they are but because people have a tendancy to put two and two together to come up with 8. That is what has happened to me. Three admins defended a friend but being admins and using the words they did makes them bullies. It's not like another user coming to defence. Anyway I too was sorry to see you leave your team. Mot was one of the 4 or 5 threads I followed. Your leaving made them a lot poorer. Thanks. Pond |

What! Since when did I or anybody else do that, Mr Bell's actions where entirely his own. David I think you have lost the plot here. You started this again. I have respectfully asked you to let the matter rest until the Project Manager has looked at the facts. This is my final say on the matter, for the time being, please let it be yours. |
