AMD 64 CPU not identified correctly

The client fails to correctly identify my AMD processor. While Windows XP shows it as an Athlon 64 3200+ running at 2.31 GHz (overclocked 5%), the grid client identifies it as an AMD 0FC0 839 MHz. I don't know where it came up with that speed rating. I have AMD Cool 'N Quiet disabled, and just reinstalled the grid client.

The client correctly identifies my other two boxes running AMD XP 2600+ CPUs as "AMD 06A0 19.GHz".

There is a definite problem with the client recognizing at least some AMD CPUs. Is it only ones which are overclocked, perhaps?

My Athlon64 is not overclocked, yet shows up as an AMD 0FC0 1.0GHz machine. something is the broken.

Re: AMD 64 CPU not identified correctly

I don't believe AMD64's are directly supported, but the software will work just fine with them. It can't take advantage of the 64 bit goodness, regardless. Try not to stress over the mis-identification, as it won't hurt the calculation speed one bit.

The grid software used for this project has been around for a long time. It's good and solid, but lacking in a number of modern features. We are all eagerly awaiting the upgrades, which have been promised for 2005. I wouldn't start howling on Jan 1, however, unless you like disappointment.

The UD Agent we are using is a little old. AMD64s weren't around when they added the processor recognition code. However, the "mis-identification" is merely for the label you see. It has nothing to do with the CPU score you receive. In order to come up with a score for your CPU it runs an actual benchmark, so your score and thus your points are just fine.

My AMD64 3000+ is identified as an "AMD 0FC0 2.0 GHz". The clock speed is correct, so I'm not sure why your's is not.

Hmmmm, I wonder if it'll recognize my 6502 processor...

I have AMD ATHLON XP Processor 3200+==What would be the difference and it was scoring about 233 and has since dropped to the 120s--nothing running but this grid
