Good good so long as the XML is released soon for the team data I dont check up on my team or credits through WCG as I am not interested in the final result here as it is multiplied to convert it to UD points I would much rather see my team stats in BOINC points as soon as it is released plenty of services out there for me to use then to compare credits with other teams

I just noticed that I'm crunching 2 WU of FAAH 5.07 and that makes me happy. I also like the other project but THIS is the one that I really want to crunch for. The power of this combined super computer will help the science to wipe the scourge of aids right off the earth.

How are you getting this to work? All I get is failed to attach to project and errors saying no schedulers responded.

Can you please post the error that you are seeing so we can further assist you...
Also, please do a "./boinc -version" so we can see what versoin of the software your using...versions less than 5.2.4 won't work, and it is highly recommended to use the latest 5.2.13. -Uplinger |

madmac, each workunit for Fight Aids @ Home and HPF have been sized to be around 10 hours for the average computer. If you computer is slower than the average, this will increase the time, as well as if you're running other CPU intensive tasks on the machine. What are the stats on the machine that is reporting this estimate?

How long does the WU take? My manager is saying around 55 hours is this correct? Looking at the 2nd one which just completed. It took 10:39 hrs to finish. I'm running Boinc 5.2.13 on an Intel 3.0 gHz HT processor. Also using WinXT pro and 750mb RAM in the machine. I assume this would finish quicker if I was not using the 2 processor option. Any I'm pleased to strike a blow at H.I.V. and even IF it took 55 hours or 55 days per work unit, I'd still be happy crunching for the project. For me it's not the points or the race (but they are nice to see) but the science itself. Let's find a real cure for this before there is nobody left on the earth to do this work... ![]() |

It is an old machine a PIII eith 856 MHz with only 256 SDRam, as it is its first one I think Boinc will have to do a few more to get the timing right.

madmac,
I think you're right about that. When I first started running FightAIDS@Home (in development), it said anywhere from 50-90 hours to complete, but all the work units finished in around 10 hours. It shouldn't take too much longer than that with your machine. Those estimates should start coming down pretty quick. And, as long as you return them before the due date, all will be well. ![]() |
