applause Statistical trivia

Ah, the thoughts that pop into one's mind late on a Friday afternoon smile I took a look at the current Global Statistics page and noted that, as of 01/13/2006 18:06:02 (UTC), we had total run time of close to 26,437 years. As WCG is only about 1.25 years old, the odd thought crossed my mind - how long before we hit a nice round number of 100,000 years of total run time? Basically, the math worked out to about 3.67 years. So, in less than five calendar years of existence, WCG will look to have completed 100,000 years of run time across it's users. As we presumably add more users and/or the average run time per calendar day increases, we'll just get there faster. Adds a little perspective to the power of grid computing!
