a Bank Holiday (at least in the UK) Dave -- Good morning. Monday was a Bank Holiday in the US as well. For that matter, most companies here were closed to give people their day off for the 1st since it had been on a weekend. Long day for me today. Of to see the doctor. Not sure what he will be doing, but I am not sure that I would want to know if I could. Back to bed for me -- I just popped in because I woke up. It is 4:15 AM here -- way to early to be up for the day. |

Hi all! By tomorrow I should have most of my PC's back on line. That should bring me back to around 11k points/day.

Just messing with colours on the website
----------------------------------------I'm looking for a Earth theme a la World Community Grid so I took the apollo picture of the world sliced out a bit of the land, sea and clouds out of it blurred it and it makes this colour ![]() from this root colour you get this sort of palette ![]() We've known the website isn't giving out the right message with the existing colour theme for a while. Looking for for gentler softer approach Your thoughts please Dave ![]() |

Hi David - not too bad at all - reminds me a little of the new BBC Weather colours.
I rather like the colours in the logos we use here (Graham's newest one, for example), but perhaps that would look too strong for a web page. On that note, keeping a matching style (I hesitate to use the word 'brand') on all our stuff would look nice Whatever you do, I am sure it will be great and eye-catching. |

Hi Dave - hope everything is OK? Matt -- Thanks. Things went okay today. I have had a rough go of it for the past month. I had surgery on December 2nd to biopsy a growth in my bladder. I had symptoms of bladder cancer which I had already had back in 1989. Luckily, the tests were negative, but I ran into complications and had to have a catheter inserted through my abdomen into my bladder three weeks ago. Today was a followup on that and the doctor liked my progress and said that if all goes well, he will be able to remove the catheter next week. So, hopefully, next week I will begin to return to a more normal life. |

Thanks, Dave. Hopefully I can get this *&^% (not censored by nelsoc) thing removed next week.
----------------------------------------By the way -- the Stats update looks like it got off to a bit of a late start. probably will not finish until 00:40 or so. Later -- the update didn't finish until after 00:47 because of the late start! [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 4, 2006 12:53:19 AM] |
