Happy new years all :) It's already 13 hours into the first day of 2006 for me, and im dead tired... hehe. Stayed up with some friends at a new years party, and I ended up spending the first half an hour of the this year calming a stressed out dog from the fireworks!
Hope this year brings out plenty of good times for everyone :) p.s. i'll be having a slow start to the year with crunching.. rotten download shaping. 24000 --> 64. Thats real nasty! |

Happy New Year to everyone. We are just now starting 2006 in Raleigh, North Carolina (it is now 12:19 AM January 1 here).
----------------------------------------Blueprint -- You and I are just about as far apart as we could possibly be! Our latitude and longitude is 35° 52' N 78° 47' W. Perth has latitude and longitude 31° 57' S 115° 51' E. A straight line between the two would come very close to passing through the exact center of the earth. I think the spot directly opposite us would be a bit to your west out in the ocean, but Perth is the closest point on land directly opposite us. Good (late) morning all. I hope everyone's New Year celebration was enjoyable and safe. I stayed up to see the New Year come in here and then was unable to go to sleep as someone nearby must have had a party going on and had their subwoofer cranked up. I hate those things -- they vibrate the walls and you can't really sense what direction the sound is coming from. I didn't get to sleep until after 2:00 AM and then woke up at about 4:30. I sat in front of the PC for a couple hours and then slept again from 6:30 until 9:45. This afternoon, the Carolina Panthers are playing football in Atlanta, so I probably won't get much of a nap in since I am an avid Panthers fan and want to see them win to get into the playoffs. I notice that the forums are a bit quiet this morning -- probably a lot of celebrating last night. It will be great to see all of the office computers that have been shut down for the holidays come online this week and get the World Community Grid back up to its normal crunching levels.
I wonder when we will see our first new member of the year? Lots of room on this team for new blood if you are thinking about it. We're a friendly lot and tend to help one another out a lot. Make the plunge. You can join us by going here and clicking "Join this Team". |
