Re: BOINC

Hi Morgan the Gold.
'Contact Us' is found on the bottom of most pages on the site, but not in the Forum. The URL is http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/viewContactUs.do

Please use this to send sensitive security items to the staff, such as CPID and Authenticator. It is much safer than using a public bulletin board, even though we are using a robot.txt file to keep Google from storing and indexing our messages.

mycrofth

Added: You are right, I was overreacting. It is only passwords that are sensitive.

Morgan,

Yea - I just requested the contact us b/c I was requesting your authenticator as well.

I'm going to have to do some digging on this one. We have a couple of other people reporting it as well.

Re: BOINC

Alright - after much digging I figured out what is going on. It is as Bruno says - there is a internal and an external cross project id. You can see the internal one in your client_state.xml file <cross_project_id> for each project. The external cross project id is the md5sum of your internal cross project with your email address appended. This extrnal cross project id is what is displayed on the BOINC sites and export in the XML stats. Unfortunately, we actually display your internal cross project id on our website which can lead to some confusion since it doesn't look anything like the external cross project id. I will be fixing these and it should be released with the results page (which is going to be released with the french version in Jan).

I apologize for the confusion on this issue and look forward to the confusion disappearing once we have fixed how the cross project id is displayed on our website.

Re: BOINC

Hi.
My stats fit also very well in the exports.
But I have some further of the darned 'demands' :)

What about the WAP-stats feature?
I think my team is not the only one using this feature to actualize credits.

I've dettach the project and attached again and nothing work'd the CPID of WCG is still diferent from all the others.

as can be seen in
http://www.boincstats.com/signature/user_96727.gif

My E-mail is the same in WCG and all the other projects

Re: BOINC

jmmrb,

Can you do me a favor - can you update your global prefs at one of the other BOINC sites, then update your client for that project, then update your client for World Community Grid.

Following that, can you not login to our site for the next day and email your client_state.xml file to support@worldcommunitygrid.org attention Kevin?

thanks,
Kevin
