As a computer scientist, I'm much more concerned that the "ugly image" detracts from CPU cycles that would otherwise be spent on number-crunching the HIV protease fit. There's shading, rotation, and 3D hiding calculations required. I'd rather they do at least three more calculation cycles. Does the graphic run when the app is minimized? On most of my machines it runs as a service, and therefore has no windows. I disabled the screensaver as well as was recommended to get the most juice out of my machines. |

No, I believe that it only runs when it is supposed to show on the screen. At least, that is the standard way to program such applications. mycrofth |

Yeah...the white thing is a ribbon diagram of the HIV protease, which this project is aimed at blocking. I guess you could call it a sort of enzyme that cuts apart your DNA. It doesn't look great, but go write a angry letter to the scientist that came up with it if you don't like it.
