To the person that asked why anyone would care about herpes. Well have you ever had a cold sore!!!!

If you have had chickenpox, then you have a 50% chance to getting shingles by the time you are 80 years old.
I got shingles when I was only 30, and I can tell you that I would rather have a cold sore for a year than go through that again. The pain lasts much longer than the actual 'sores'. |

chickenpox also falls under this interesting! i have forwarded the 'submit a proposal' page to people who have studied herpes. i do agree the project might have a popular appeal.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herpesviridae |
