I have a couple of old PCs running windows 98 which are not and cannot be connected to the internet.
is it possible to install the client on them and import new projects in by floppy or disk-on-key and, when finished, export them to a PC connected to the internet ? just a shame to waste the idling computer power :) |

Hello Talashar,
I have been waiting for others to answer, since I groan at the thought of all the work involved. I have never done this, but there are some threads over on grid.org ( http://forum.grid.org/phpBB/ ) about this. Here are two threads on our site you ought to look at: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=4896#38124 http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1925#11165 Hope this helps - mycrofth |

Thank you.
I have looked, and it seems the most simple solution is to install the wcg client directly to a usb memory stick and use it from there on any available pc. |

I think that you are right. There are many different methods, but that one involves the least labor.

If you install WCG on the off-line computers and run with UDMon you can export the cache directories for the finished WU's quite easily. Here is a link that may help with the setup
