I have been participating the the folding@home project for about a year now using the software offered on their web site. I've just recently switched to the WCG software and I have to say I'm very impressed with it.
My question is, are work units between the different projects assigned with any priority? Since I've been running folding@home for so long I was going to just subscribe to that project. But if someone is regulates the work units between all the different projects based on some kind of priority it seems like everyone should subscribe to all projects and let the grid send out work units as needed. Hope this question makes sense. Thanks, Victor. |

For a few weeks after the launch of the new project, we have a slightly higher proportion of FightAIDS@home work units so that the press and new members joining to see the new project are more likely to receive work for the new project. We are slowly evening that out over the next several weeks. Also, the new project has higher minimum machine hardware requirements which keeps it from running on some machines. Some members choose to opt out of one or the other project. Otherwise, the work units are assigned at random from those in the system.

Thank You for the reply Viktor, I understand now. (it looks like we have the same first name and our last names both start with the same letter!)
Thanks again, Viktor, Victor. |
