Interesting catch, Taurus Oldbull! If that issue (or work on its resolution) affects the cloud as well as the compute cluster(s) that would definitely not be helpful :-(
If that is the case, perhaps WCG might like to confirm it? In the meantime, all the non-BOINC stuff still seems to be working, including API access to [some version of] the BOINC database. Cheers - Al. |

Hello,
----------------------------------------the problem is not resoves Still: Di 30 Sep 2025 05:59:30 CEST | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Di 30 Sep 2025 05:59:30 CEST | World Community Grid | Reporting 29 completed tasks Di 30 Sep 2025 05:59:30 CEST | World Community Grid | Requesting new tasks for CPU Di 30 Sep 2025 05:59:32 CEST | World Community Grid | Scheduler request to https://scheduler.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/wcg_cgi/fcgi failed: HTTP service unavailable But nontheless: let me just say that I will not stop with my support for World Community Grid. I will not be among those who resign because of technical problems And I ask everyone to go on with the support. The technical concept of distributed is too innovative and creative to give it up. To everyone: Hang on M [Edit 1 times, last edit by Martin Schnellinger at Sep 30, 2025 4:04:28 AM] |

The technical concept of distributed is too innovative and creative to give it up. People aren't giving up on DC, they're just moving to projects that have less downtime combined with almost inexistent communication. I'm not giving up on WCG either, but during the "2 day" migration LHC has launched its brand new Xtrack application and I'm seriously tempted to keep crunching there. The project leader himself is keeping us in the loop with what's going on, problems with the application are being worked on and fixed in both production and development in parallel. I'm aware that they probably have orders of magnitude more funding. On the other hand, BOINC provides only a fraction of the crunching that is being done there but they still take the time and effort to keep the volunteers happy. ![]() ![]() |

Some progress.
https://scheduler.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/wcg_cgi/fcgi Now responds with: 403 Forbidden Request forbidden by administrative rules. So, now there is a server there at least. ![]() |

I was able to download a master file on one of the systems (then 403 error).
Maybe today? |

I've been able to download the master file for a couple of days, but the scheduler URL previously always responded with 503 Service Unavailable
----------------------------------------No server is available to handle this request. So, today there is at least some progress. I have a feeling that today is the day...... ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Sep 30, 2025 12:16:54 PM] |

A new update on the operational status page :-
September 30, 2025 Tech team is working through issues with the WAS container configuration and the BOINC daemon builds on the science cluster. We are also pinging data centre admis as we don't have the /science filesystem on 1/6 of the science nodes, don't have the ability to add the IP address to the NFS share Hopefully, not a blocker but does lock that node out of some roles until we can mount the NFS share. |
