BETA returned in time but status is "Too late"

I got BETA_BETA30_9800006_0045_1 on 25th April and returned the results the same day. Nevertheless the status is "Too Late" while the status of BETA_BETA30_9800006_0045_0 is "Error"

Please see here: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/705883171

Hope to support the error clearance.

All the best

Klaus

Re: BETA returned in time but status is "Too late"

Hi Klaus,

"Too Late" means 'too late to validate', in other words: it was not possible to validate your task, although it was returned in time:
Result name OS type Status Sent time Due / Return time CPUtime/Elapsed Claimed/Gr.
BETA_BETA30_9800006_0045_0 MSWin 8.1 Error 2025-04-25 03:56:20 2025-05-05 06:32:31 22.94/23.91 655.9/0
BETA_BETA30_9800006_0045_1 MSWin 11 Too Late 2025-04-25 03:56:21 2025-04-25 19:13:10 14.35/14.9 671.7/0

The reason for this "Too Late" Status is that a second Valid result was needed (because of the line 'Quorum: 2'), but the line 'Replication: 0' said to not distribute anymore tasks, so when BETA_BETA30_9800006_0045_0 errored out, it was impossible to get your task validated, therefore it was marked "Too Late". Unfortunately, we can now say that it was a waste of resources.
It's a risk that you take when you're subscribed to Beta testing.

It is what it is.

On the (maybe not so) bright side: in the end, we are all learning a (somewhat small) bit from this.

Adri
