Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Other projects on BOINC have a fairly consistent web site status, including a Server Status page. If WCG could create something similar, that would save a lot of time for all of us trying to find out where the problem is.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Getting Fresh MCM WUs now. I hope everyone gets some.
@Unixchick
Yes, same here. A few new MCM tasks delivered to my computer.

Edit: Well, that didn't last long. 8 new tasks at 2025-04-06 18:56:02 UTC, nothing since then.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

I got nearly 60 in the first hour after the flow restarted (18:00..19:00 UTC), just over 50 in the next hour and it took another half hour to fill my various caches (managed by quotas, with about 160 tasks over 4 main systems).

I make a point of ensuring that none of my systems get into that state where the BOINC client says "Well, if there's no work there must be something wrong so I'll back off for longer [and longer, and longer...]" -- if left to their own devices who knows when they would have got their first work (or how long it would've taken them to get topped up...)

I suspect it'll now be "business as usual" for three or four days then it'll go away again (for 16 to 24 hours as per these last two cases...) -- I hope that's a pessimistic view, but...

Cheers - Al.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

Looks like we have a good flow of WUs today of all types.

I'm still trying to get some ARP WUs, but the reference number implies an ok flow. better than we have had in a while.

Looks like more beta MAMs are going out, and succeeding on the linux platform.

MCM is our steady project that is filling caches.

Grumpy - I'm trying not to be grumpy, but it is hard to do these days for non WCG reasons. :-). Supporting science is my happy place.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

MAM for Linux seems to be flowing again, at least according to what I read here.

However, nothing yet to be seen on the Beta stats here:
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewP...amp;numRecordsPerPage=365

The last Beta result is still 04/08/2021 (2021-04-08) Perhaps they haven't turned on the Beta validators yet.

There is a simple explanation for that.

(1)
Many results have been returned by now, and they are all still Pending Validation, so they cannot be counted yet. We are seeing results like this:

BETA_beta30_9800036_0076_0 Fedora Linux Pending Validation 2025-04-08T05:35:43 2025-04-08T05:44:08
BETA_beta30_9800036_0076_1 Linux Ubuntu Pending Validation 2025-04-08T05:35:44 2025-04-08T08:18:35

(2)
There's other trouble. You would expect that you can select Beta Testing on your Results page and then see your recent BETA-tasks. However, as you might have guessed by my wording, that's not the case.
See post 702777.

The Results page expects BETA-tasks to carry a numerical ID: projectId=1. It's just that they don't have that particular ID at this moment. In fact, I don't have any idea (pun intended) what ID they have. confused
In any case, they should have ID 1.

So, if you have crunched one or more BETA tasks this early morning (2025-04-08T05:35), I don't know if they will be counted towards your BETA statistics.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

We got another update... posting here.
April 8, 2025

MAM1 Beta Linux Build Fixed in version 7.02: We have fixed the issue causing crashes during initialization with the Linux 64-bit build, and released an updated MAM1 application version 7.02 for Linux.

MAM1 Beta Batches MAM1_9800035 and MAM1_9800036: A small 4-work units batch (MAM1_9800035) to confirm the fix and a larger 100 work units batch (MAM1_9800036) were released yesterday night and this morning, respectively. So far no errors have been returned from either batch.

Reported Missing Beta Results, Lack of Results on Community Stats Page: As some volunteers have noted, we have not yet run the validators and assimilators for MAM1. We did write and build the validators and assimilators, which are essentially the same as those for MCM1. If there are no surprises, we expect to schedule these as daemons and let them run indefinitely assuming the initial batches of results validate without issue.

Windows 64-bit Build Next: Primary effort at the moment is on resolving the previously mentioned issues with the Windows build of the MAM1 application. We plan to make a more formal post in the Beta Testing thread for reporting issues once we release the initial Windows version.

Re: Project Status (First Post Updated)

MCM WUs are still flowing.

ARP new WU generation looks off right now. There should be some resends floating around.

Let me know if you see something different.
