Re: The Computation Moonshot starts today!

Yeah, no OPNG tasks here either, for quite a while. Back to the OPNG desert I'd say.

Edit: And all of a sudden, I'm almost drowning in OPNG tasks.
Certainly not drowning over here. Don't think there was a new OPNG task in a while. One single one shortly after noon UTC, and a couple short bursts 8h before that... sad

EDIT: Came back into the office after a trip into town and low and behold, my programming laptop got eight (8) new OPNG WUs...

Re: The Computation Moonshot starts today!

Linked article in OP states:
In order to ensure that there is ample work unit supply throughout the competition, we will be ramping up the supply of MCM, OPN, SCC and ARP work units for the duration of the competition, from March 25 to May 7. Current status: MCM - ready; OPN - ready; SCC - ready; ARP - in the process.

We haven't seen SCC and ARP work in many months. Maybe even a year. This article teased that both projects were ready to go. Just curious if this is true and if there is an ETA. Thank you! I'd love some more variety than just MCM, (as much as I care about MCM).

Ofc it's not true. Much like the tech team claiming there are no supply issues is either gaslighting or a display of incompetence (which doesn't make it true either way), more units aren't coming. The ETA was to be Monday, but then the announcement was pushed to either later that day or Tuesday... of last week. And as history would have it, both came and went.

Just forget about it. Either crunch MCM and fish for OPNG, or move your hardware to another project that has work to offer.

Any idea when results for the competition will be released? We think it ended yesterday?

Hi Boca Raton Community HS,

We assume that the results will be posted on the Computation Moonshot website. We have heard back from the organizers about the results of the competition.

Good Luck BRCHS !!! I'm so happy the kids are learning about being a part of science and computing. I hope they also have a win to encourage them.

Thanks! There are three categories and we feel good about winning one of them (overall work done). I am really curious about who won the other two categories.
