Well, looks like once again, you are leaning yourself rather far out of the window...
In order to ensure that there is ample work unit supply throughout the competition, we will be ramping up the supply of MCM, OPN, SCC and ARP work units for the duration of the competition, from March 25 to May 7. Current status: MCM - ready; OPN - ready; SCC - ready; ARP - in the process.
MCM1 is back available/ready right now, but OPNG is supposedly still waiting on the researchers, SCC hasn't been ready for the last two years, and ARP is "in progress" for almost a year now as well...

Re: The Computation Moonshot starts today!

OPNG is definitely not ready, unless you are limiting them to the high school groups. I have 4 PCs asking all day and I cannot get one yet.

Re: The Computation Moonshot starts today!

No OPNG, no SCC, I haven't selected MCM, so I can't say if any MCM tasks are available.

Me too. No OPNG, no SCC, no ARP on any of my hosts.

Apparently, this Computation Moonshot is only for MCM?

Re: The Computation Moonshot starts today!

I finally got 15 OPNG tasks a short while ago, but still no SCC tasks.

Re: The Computation Moonshot starts today!

MCM work availability has been in flux since the start of the month, tapering off and now slowly resuming, though presently only about a fifth of what it was at the end of February.
I will also note a massive clean up of completed tasks: visits to the results status page are now showing mostly those in progress instead of previously completed.
Put together with this announcement, it's possible the WCG team has been working on preparing for the competition, part of which was cleaning out completed work, and that they're going to start delivering work from additional projects alongside MCM for a period (remember that work for both OPN and SCC is intermittent depending on research needs).

Re: The Computation Moonshot starts today!

I've only received 16 MCM units over the past 6 hours. Supply is still constrained. When I do get work it's only a few units.

Why is WCG promoting a competition when they haven't been able to keep new work flowing consistently for all projects since the transition?

Only reason I can think of is lots of people have left due to all the problems.

I've retired one machine and moved another to folding@home. I'm running only one machine (two threads). There's no sense trying to compete with high schools with large number of machines/cores for new work.

Lucky you! I got 2 (two), one each on a different host, over the last 15h. Both already returned but one still waiting for validation (a _2, after the _0 errored out at the host immediately, and the _1 shows as sitting at a Windows Server 2008 host (who enabled GPU on a server?!?)), so this must be "ready" somewhere else.
Honestly didn't expect any SCC, this has been dormant for two years now, and didn't have any hopes that there would actually anything showing up though.

MCM1 has been coming in now at a decent rate, my hosts are back to creating about 2 1/2 months of runtime per calendar day right now...

And as usual, silence is golden at WCG Towers.... sad
