Re: ARP restart update

Despite the fact that the project was put on pause by the ARP-team due to capacity limitations of their storage system. many machines must have been crunching ARP1-tasks in January, February, April and May 2023, thanks to the efforts of the WCG-team by providing an extra temporary storage space.

Re: ARP restart update

Yes, this is certainly good news, and should keep our 'crunchers' busy for a while biggrin

Re: ARP restart update

Very welcome news.

I hope there is going to be some sort of plan for the catching up of the laggards, especially the 3 Ultras.

Thank you for the update!!

In case this helps anyone interested in tracking the ARP1 generations, I found these two links elsewhere on this forum and have them open in separate tabs:

Re: ARP restart update

I've actually turned ARP off.
1. Tooo loong
2. Don't believe in their goals any more.

Number 2 is open to change though.

Re: ARP restart update

Hey Bobby,

No worries you don't have to like ARP. There are plenty of other WCG or BOINC projects. The ARP WUs are long, and there are a limited amount of them, and they aren't suited for every computer. There will be a big fight over the small pile of ARPs that will probably be released in small batches to keep the servers up.

I personally think that weather data is perfect for a BOINC project. These huge data sets take a lot of processing power. Weather and growing food is very important to me.

Thank you for the 5+ years of ARP you have already processed.
