with threadrippers they get real hot when you match them out. . If you feel the above is an issue I strongly suggest getting it looked at Yeah, they should get warm but not close to thermal throttle unless you are overclocking? Which models? |

I wonder if the MCM scientists have arrived at a point where they can't actually provide huge volumes of new work? I can guess what the user reaction would be if they started sending out make-work tasks instead :-) If they're planning to run at a permanent deficit, maybe they can work with Folding @ Home to send us multicore tasks when WCG runs out of its own work. Check these out: https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats '0XA8' are iterative, multicore CPU tasks from dozens of experiments. Much of what's there has been sitting there for years, each iteration waiting to be assigned until the 1,300,000 tasks ahead of it get assigned. I can only imagine what it's like for a project scientist to have to wait years to get an answer for a single experiment. It varies a little by time of day, but when I divide by the current assign rate, any given task is only crunched once every 24 days. Cancer research is just sitting there. Try to subscribe to both projects and WCG will continue to alternate between nothing and surplus. But if WCG were to adopt a hundred thousand of those extra tasks and assign a maximum of one per client whenever the server ran out of other work, both systems would benefit. Unfortunately, WUs working units have dried up again. I keep all the project of WGC checked, but I can't receive a single work unit.
----------------------------------------I would really apprecciate an update from the scientific/technical team about it. I hope to receive some fresh new on this matter. Cheers ![]() |

I not only get resends, but also new _0 and _1 workunits. Although the number of new workunits seems to have been decreased as opposed to the last few days, it is still trickling in here, on all my 4 devices. |

Same here. I'm getting all the MCM tasks I need. No problems whatsoever.

One of our systems is at about 5% of max. Work is still coming in but at a trickle. |

Hello all,
I passed your posts along to the tech team who confirmed that there was an issue with the create work process this morning which caused a temporary lack of work units. The issue has since been resolved and workflow should be back to normal. |

The issue has since been resolved and workflow should be back to normal. Thank you for the swift resolution, I now have work on both machines. Must have a backlog of users trying to get work units. Even my Windows machine has only 50% queue. The Linux machines are down to about 40%. Cheers
