... but it has clearly been explained that for a while, the issuing of new WUs would be slow as that interferes, at least resources wise, with the long overdue purging of valid WUs that had accumulated since late October 2023. I agree with this. It is unrealistic for us to think that EVERY host will have a 100% full queue as soon as work starts being released. We are talking about a MASSIVE amount of work being requested. If you all want a good way to watch your task count if you have multiple systems, go to your results, filter by "in progress" and record that number a few times per day. I can almost promise that number is increasing, slowly (unless something breaks...). There has been a linear increase of work for us. That being said, I don't understand why some of our hosts will get plenty of work and others will not (same settings). I really think that there is a direct correlation between keeping work and the speed/power of the system (measured in tasks returned within a day). The more powerful the system, the less likely it will keep work or fill its queue. I am expecting with time, it will fill with work as other users queues start filling. If you have really powerful systems, I think we just have to sit tight. If you system is not that powerful and you are still not getting work... then I have no idea. That is not meant to be negative or look "down on" less powerful systems, just trying to figure out the mystery. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Boca Raton Community HS at Mar 28, 2024 4:34:59 PM] |

I don't know about anybody else but i have been watching my machines closely and can see what is happening.
----------------------------------------Every machine is getting between 20 to 30 WUs at a time which is enough to keep the slower machines busy until another batch of WUs are released, but my more powerful machines run through them very quickly. Thay run out way before the next batch of WUs are released. Hitting update is of no use if there are no WUs available. ![]() |

I do understand it, but I don't know how to overcome it other than just give it time for other users queues to fill. |

I see things are improving. The MCM totals for the first half of today are 326,166, which is higher than the recent past. This means there should be in excess of 650, 000 units returned by the end of the day if the supplies of available work units hold out. If the faster machines can get their queues filled maybe we exceed 700,000. Here's to hoping.

We only need to double that to be back to full output. |

It might be worth mentioning that his is with all stock settings in the BOINC client, nothing has been "adjusted". Maybe all those people that are complaining still today have messed a bit too much with any settings... Uhh see subsequent posts. Signed, Guy who doesn't mess with settings. |

If this is the level to which we need to get accustomed, please let us know that. If the plan is to get to the million plus days we have seen in the past, please let us know that also. Thank you

Thank you It’s a nice steady progression since the 239k on the 19th and there’s no reason to think it will stop before it gets back up to the 1.4m we were seeing up until a month ago :-) |

Tha only machine I have with the 2 day queue full is a I3 4 thread. The I7 8 thread, 3100 8 thread and 5600 12 thread get enough to stay busy finely today but no where near filling there queues, the twelve thread 5800 has not even been keeping all threads busy ![]() |

I haven't received any tasks for several days. I have set NNT to allow other people to get them :-)
