Re: 2022-12-19 Update (workunit shortage and email problems - resolved)

Are there problems again? The last 6 hours or so, I don't get ANY new work, not even resends, on 3 of my 4 machines.

The 4th one does get new work, but only a frw workunits at a time.

I am going to hazard a guess that since most of the pressure is on the MCM feeder, with only a few ARP available, that the MCM feeder may be overloaded or at least being worked to capacity. If there is more demand for units than it can handle, that would make sense that there is a slowdown in the work units available.
Cheers

Well, I'm getting plenty of MCMs and I got a single OPNG WU this evening.

Is this progress?

A few days ago my machines had reserves, but work was being completed faster than the queues were being filled. Now the reserve is depleted, and they are running with empty slots.

Always the no tasks available message. The server does report that there are tasks for platforms other than Windows.

I am using currently 99% Windows hosts and I do not have any problems at all getting MCM1 WUs. A few times there were only a couple WUs left as "Ready to start", but I have not seen any of the hosts (that I have either direct or remotely access to) completely run out of work or even idle threads/slots...

I haven't had one run completely dry recently, but I have to constantly press refresh to try to keep a few jobs ready to go. I am seeing them run with idle cores if I am away from my desk for a few hours. Ith 40 cores, there is a WU completing every few minutes. Right now, 9 will complete in less than 2 minutes.

Re: 2022-12-19 Update (workunit shortage and email problems - resolved)

None of my machines have had a problem getting MCM work units. They do not get work units with every query, but the the queues seem to stay full. Both Linux and Windows. There certainly are quite a few of the "no tasks available" messages, but still, I seem to get them when I need them.
Cheers

I can say EXACTLY the same thing, Sgt. Joe, both Windows and Linux.

Same for me, no problems getting work the last week.

I even got 3 OPN-workunits today (new units, _0/_1, so no resends), even if OPN was supposed to be paused.

Re: 2022-12-19 Update (workunit shortage and email problems - resolved)

Not getting any work. Last week I reviewed my settings to verify the "allow work from other projects when none available". Since it was set and nothing had been happening I enabled MCM and within a few minutes got MCM. I am guessing that the "allow other work" does not function properly.

I also notice that all my systems were complaining about the HTTPS and wanted HTTP instead. I waited for the queue to empty and detached and attached like I was requested. However, the attachment app, both BM and BT had https so I had to edit the url else the same improper HTTPS would be used. I do not mind that as I realize it cost $ to pay for the HTTPS.

Long Story Short: I have 5 MCM tasks total on two system. Normally I have 6 WCG tasks running on each of 6 systems with a lot more queued up.

Can the "process other apps when out of wanted apps" be fixed?

Question: When I set each app to a limit of 6 does that apply to each of my systems or for me as a user? Maybe that is the problem?

thanks for looking!
