the website hasn't shown any changes for me in 7 days, it's still showing the latest unit as 2nd July but my servers have uploaded dozens since.

jives11, it's a pity that many of your results aren't showing up. Could you clarify some things?
----------------------------------------You wrote: the website hasn't shown any changes for me in 7 days, it's still showing the latest unit as 2nd July but my servers have uploaded dozens since. That's odd, since the website shows that your "Last result returned" at this moment was at "7/9/24 03:27:26 […+ hour(s) ago] (UTC)" - that's today - (with only 1 device registered). Where exactly are you looking?Let me check some more things. I looked up your host with the missing ID (8783858) that you reported in post 697689 in the publicly accessible database of hosts and it showed the following data: <host> According to this, your missing device (reported by you as ID#8783858) was created at 1697570550 = Tue 17 Oct 19:22:30 UTC 2023 and you are a "Registered member since 11/22/2023", that's 22 November 2023, after the device was created. Are you sure that is the correct device-ID? Adri [Edit 1 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Jul 9, 2024 10:47:20 AM] |

Thank you Adri for your reply.
----------------------------------------I have a P4 intel machine which has been running boinc since November last year and that is the primary one I see results for. I recently registered a second machine (last week) which is higher spec and I believe has completed 30 work units in the last week. This corresponds to the machine you identified (8783858) The creation time is from last october as , after building it I briefly experimented with boinc at that time before stopping it to use the machine for other things. I decided to start using it again, so its possible that that create time is valid. I cannot remember if I registered during that experimental phase, perhaps not. I can indeed now see updates to Jul 9 , so I was wrong to question if updates were appearing. My issue is clearly the second server not being in my list of devices, and hence not contributing to my stats, though I assume the work unit results are being returned. $ wc -l /var/lib/boinc-client/job* 30 /var/lib/boinc-client/job_log_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.txt I tried detaching and attaching to the project to see if this helps. I assume some information is updated, if I had some old configuration from my experiments in october [Edit 1 times, last edit by jives11 at Jul 9, 2024 4:11:17 PM] |

OK after the detach and reattach my missing server has the ID 8816592 and I think the host create time is now later than the user create time, but I still don't see it in my devices section

Hi jives11, you mentioned the new ID of your missing server. I was wondering if the new ID could be found in the publicly accessible database of hosts. Since I downloaded the database yesterday, it is possible for me to perform a search for new entries in today's version of the database. It appears that 250 hosts have been added in the past 24 hours and that there are certain gaps in the list of new IDs:

Its host-entry begins as follows: <host>Its creation time is 1720540787 = Tue 9 Jul 15:59:47 UTC 2024 (you can check this yourself by running the Linux command "date -d @1720540787 -u"). I am noting that the userid differs from the one that was recorded with former ID 8783858. There is only one other host with that 'new' userid: <host>(Created at Sun 26 Nov 12:20:27 UTC 2023.) The reason why I mention this and only this one other host, is that your former userid (1081982) seems to have a total of 22,034 host-entries. You don't have to explain that, I must add. In my experience a new device will be visible within 24 hours on your Devices page and results will be visible as soon as one or more tasks are downloaded on your new device. YMMV. Adri |

I'm sorry for any confusion, my assumption that <userid> is the same as a member's ID can't be confirmed. I don't know what <userid> means. I've checked some of my own devices and none of them has a <userid> in the publicly accessible database of hosts. Strange. So, I have no idea why or what.
----------------------------------------Also, I found out that <userid> 1081982 has the most hosts overall, or better yet, <userid> 10811982 is being mentioned the most: in 22,034 host-entries. Here's a short breakdown:
Also, I don't know what <expavg_credit> or <expavg_time> means, if you should ask me. Adri [Edit 1 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Jul 10, 2024 12:04:28 PM] |

many thanks Adri for your very full investigative answer.
I'm now hopeful that my new server should appear sometime soon. As to why the old configuration was part of such a large pool, I don't know. I recall I quickly troed boinc to see if it would be able to do GPU crunching with the machine as it was then. Possibly that user with the many servers is a default anonymous account for people not interested in personal stats ? |

I am also missing a device with host ID 8816962. I can see work units in results, but it's not displayed in devices, overview, or history.
