Re: OpenPandemics - GPU Stress Test

I wonder if Uplinger planned to babysit the servers through the entire night. If not, the entire system, of course including all other projects, will probably come crashing down, like a ton of bricks.

The other option, is to pause this test over night.

Why would they pause a stress test? If it crashes then they’ll know what the system can handle.

Re: OpenPandemics - GPU Stress Test

Uploads and downloads are now piling up and going to pending download/upload.
Only solution is manual intervention, or the cache will be empty very shortly.
Stress Test, seems to be a very fitting description of what's going on now. smile

Maybe because the other projects will also suffer from a total system crash, and the researchers from those other projects might not appreciate that?

Re: OpenPandemics - GPU Stress Test

GPU app so host = GPU

that's not how BOINC operates.

host = the entire system
CPU = processor
GPU = coprocessor

you can call it whatever you like yourself, but that's not the accepted terminology for the BOINC platform.

in any case, the true limits are what I have listed.

50 per GPU, up to 200 total per host. so even with 5, 6, 7, 8 + GPUs, you only get a max of 200 per host.

Re: OpenPandemics - GPU Stress Test

I'm not participating in the stress test, but this is what I'm seeing in the log:
4/26/2021 6:34:38 PM | World Community Grid | Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server
4/26/2021 6:34:39 PM | | Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
4/26/2021 6:34:42 PM | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.

Whatever man. I’ll be sure and write that down. Your narcissism is starting to show.

Re: OpenPandemics - GPU Stress Test

Currently having BOINC up / download issues for WCG...

I'm almost overloading my upload link, but no definite sign of also overloading the download side of the same link.
