That makes it a good idea, Mumak, if overclocking, unstable drivers and background radiation are causing errors. No, such expected error rate for "good" GPUs is very small (roughly 1 out of 1000 tasks), but it would result in leaving the GPU idle for 24 hours instead of being able to process dozens (or hundreds) of valid tasks during that time. ![]() |

I have about 75 Valid OPNG work units, and all are valid except for a handful of "pending validations". These OPNG work units were distributed between a GTX 1060 and a GTX 1070.
The only strange thing that I noticed is the point system. Most of the time I received 2.6 points per WU, and every once in a while I received 248.6 points per WU. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason why some WU's received 2.6 and others received 248.6 points. |

I only got about 10-12 tasks, each one said they would take about an hour, and didn't, I estimate if I recall correctly somewhere between 30-35 minutes each. My GPU is good. Which brings me to my next point, I am not here for the credits.. but 2.6 credits for one of those files seems a bit low especially since GPUs do so much more work. They also caused my fan system on my PC to go up and down continually for 12 hours. Not stable at all for heat, that is something that has to be worked on. I can't have my system surging like that all day. This has not happened with other GPU projects, they should not cause my system fans to increase and decrease so much while still putting my system at risk for over heating because they are shutting them down too much. I never need to tweak fan speeds when running any project. Usually at most I just need to cut off one or two CPU cores only or reduce time, but with these, they threw everything out of wack.

It happens on a per machine basis and takes a lot more errors to drive a machine down to 1 than it takes valid results to drive it back up. Your 1 in 1000 error rate would not effect a machine’s processing. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Bryn Mawr at Mar 3, 2021 6:09:02 AM] |

One machine with a GeForce GTX 660 running WCG and a 1050 Ti running GPUGrid. 3 tasks. 2 succeeded (~30min), one failed, although it seems to have failed for everyone at the same point: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...s.do?workunitId=550356570 The 1050 Ti has been idle, so WCG work has gone to both the GTX 660 and 1050 Ti. Both look to be running fine. GTX 660 still at around 30 minutes, 1050 Ti takes 4-5 minutes. |

Maeax, you should update your video driver from https://www.support.amd.com, more specifically https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-r...series/amd-radeon-hd-6670.

Last WHQL-Driver from Microsoft for Win10pro is installed.

I had no problems running my Radeon HD 7790 which has only 1 GB of VRAM.
----------------------------------------Edit: I found one WU that ended in an error on that card. That may have been due to a power interruption that day. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Vester at Mar 3, 2021 12:07:23 PM] |
