Compare the accounts with which each is registered on the 2 hosts. Many succeed to somehow have multiple accounts and then find that one or the other client is not reporting the work to their active account as used on the forums. In the BOINC Manager look in the Projects tab or else in the client:state.xml file of the BOINC data directory the <user_name>membername</user_name>

Need to figure out how to look at that on linux host, will do that now. But what is weird if i had several units waiting to run on windows host a few minutes ago but not they are gone. Hmmmm....
----------------------------------------Its definitely odd, both run around the clock. The linux host a month or so ago was off for a few days but its actively crunching and reporting. Ok here is something i just noticed. I as far as i know only have one account, the same one i have been using for years. But on the linux host there is an "account" collum associated to what it shows for subscribed projects and only one shows this account. The others show other names. Im thinking that was from back in the day when you had to create an account on each project but i have only ever had that i know of a single Boinc account. Ok last update for now, I didnt have a bam account. When i started back at this 8 years ago, Bam didnt exist as far as i know. Once i linked Bam and that host im getting closer to what i was looking for. Thanks for the above input that got me looking. [Edit 3 times, last edit by ifican at May 15, 2020 4:20:28 PM] |

Ok last update for now, I didnt have a bam account. When i started back at this 8 years ago, Bam didnt exist as far as i know. Once i linked Bam and that host im getting closer to what i was looking for. Thanks for the above input that got me looking. BAM is known to not work well with WCG. 1) Detach from BOINC Account Manager, BAM, on the client you dont see WCG listed, only WCG, there's no -per WCG project- attaching. 2) In the BOINC Manager Add WCG as a project, it's near bottom of dropdown list 3) Go to your BAM account, projects page to ensure that WCG is selected under "default attach" i.e. shows a tickmark. 4) Go back to the problem client and add BAM back. WCG should stay attached. If it does not. Repeat 1 and 2 only. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 16, 2020 6:18:13 AM] |

Yes that's normal. It's whenever there is urgent need of a wingman then the first available [reliable] host calling for work is designated as verifier. If you are not liking it, you can specify in the cc_config.xml file to only receive 64 bit work. That will preclude you from sciences that are only available in 32 bit such as MIP1. No I won't mess with those settings, I'd rather stay the reliable wingman... |
