Why should a change in Einstein, or other, change anything for WCG. If doing WCG and Einstein using defaults I expect the Resource Share to be 50% each. Then if a change in the Einstein profile (on the Einstein website) to 10% CPU should change the Resource Share to 90%-10%. Seems it does not. This almost sounds like a bug in the Boinc client.
----------------------------------------So if using the "trick" from uplinger then the 10% for Einstein would go to 100%. Kinda makes profiles preferences irrelevant. My Boinc Manager says using local preferences in Options/Computing Preferences and click "Use Web Preferences" to use Web based Preferences from WCG. The WCG link is hard coded. My clients are downloaded from WCG and not from Berkeley. I assume there is a difference. [Edit 1 times, last edit by BobbyB at Sep 20, 2022 3:59:59 PM] |

Plus, if you’re using local preferences a change to the Einstein profile should make no difference to how you’re running anyway. |

I'm confused now also. I'm making no changes just asking questions trying to understand this resource share relative to %CPU.
I see no option to change resource share and am not looking to change it either Seems to be 100/number of projects loaded. Some change he made to Einstein changed WCG and the "trick" from uplinger seems to fix the problem. So what was this thread all about? |
