Android work on WCG

I have not received any tasks for a couple weeks. Help ticket said no Android tasks currently available. Is this correct (I'm signed up for all WCG Projects)? If so, is this permanent?

Re: Android work on WCG

Yes, it is correct.
Two Projects had Android support: OpenZika and SCC.
SCC is temporarily paused (work is set to resume in weeks/months) while OpenZika is basically finished with only very few repair tasks.

What is the easiest way to find out when new tasks are coming or available?

Re: Android work on WCG

If you keep BOINC running it will periodically check if there is work available. Maybe WCG could even push out notices to android clients if Android work is flowing again (not sure it can be done platform specific).

Re: Android work on WCG

I've noticed my G900V has not had any work for a while now. I've periodically gone and manually updated tasks but wasn't sure what was wrong until I saw this thread. Instead, I have it running ABCore.

I still have my rooted Kindle Fire HD 8.9" running unofficial LineageOS (Android 7.1.2), which is old enough that it's capable of running SETI@home, but no matter what I do it seems incapable of running ABCore. I also have an always-on screen app and have adhesive neodymium magnets on the back of the tablet to attach it to the fridge, with a weather widget on the home screen, so it basically acts as a weather display and a Google Home mic, through which it controls my Google Home Mini. Wish I could find an app that would make this device useful as a WiFi range extender as well...

I am in the same boat here. Haven't gotten any either for a couple weeks. My Androids are getting bored LOL.

You can add projects like Asteroids@home, Einstein@home or LHC@home. You can set up those as a backup project by setting the project weight to 0, so when WCG has Android tasks again BOINC will downloads task only from WCG.

Re: Android work on WCG

Another week gone and still no WUs for my Phones. No offense, but does anyone know when there'll be WUs available again? ;)
Thank you!

Re: Android work on WCG

Lets hope SCC comes back soon. No desire to go after asteroids and other space targets and Rosetta though they're at Baker's marked as having been android ported does not supply them.

Re: Android work on WCG

What do you mean? I was thinking about crunching for Rosetta while there're no WUs available from WCG. So no WUs from Rosetta either?
