Re: Android work on WCG

Today got a notice from WCG in the Android app that there is not work, dated December 1, and a message would be send if that changed. Clicking on the message opens the browser and results in an error message... page not found.

Don't know why it took 16 days to be notified... maybe because the client had that long a back-off before trying WCG again. Good moment to uninstall.

Re: Android work on WCG

I don't see a purpose of getting e-mail with information that currently WCG don't have any Android projects. This is the case for two months, we know that. Main question is when will be finally new projects available for Android? WCG staff don't give us any information about that and this is frustrating. Also we don't know about launching 2 other climate projects. I hope that somebody will tell us about this soon and estimated dates. Thank you.

Sorry about the link not working. This has been fixed. However, BOINC will not replace the existing notice that you have on your machine so users that already have the notice won't get the fix.

The notice is dated as Dec 1 because it will automatically be regenerated on the 1st of each month until we have android work again.

Let me leak this to you 😉

Edit: 3rd round of released Beta batches for MCM1 on Android underway, and looking good. It appears the minimum Android release is somewhere 4.4n for this science.

Nothing on Rossetta either. I'd checked many other projects, only SETI@home and another one (forgot the name) are working. Usually I run in full capacity of my phone in the winter to warm up my room. Seems like this winter I'm going to freeze to death. tongue tongue

Re: Android work on WCG

Depends on which version of Boinc you have. YoYo works on and up to Android 6.0, MooWrapper to version 7, Asteroids to Version 9, Universe and Einstein to Version 10.
