arp are readily available these days, just not on demand. See my post before yours. Mike |

Has the supply dropped off or are fewer people running arp? We seem to be returning only about 5000 a day instead of 8000. The drop is more than could have resulted from the problem last weekend.

My Linux box seems not to be getting ARP units anymore. It used to be the one getting them. Now my Windows box gets them. But my Windows box takes longer to complete them (faster machine but also working on lots of other projects simultaneously on the GPU). Just something unexplainable? :)

I don't have Linux but that probably isn't the problem. How many threads do you have and how many are dedicated to other projects? Set your cache in profiles to get just over half for arp and the total number split between the short units (mip, mcm & scc) plus 1. Those short units will cause frequent updates when arp will be requested, which should overcome the random issue of arp units. That works for me. Mike |

I am still getting WUs on my linux boxes, but definitely not as many as before the problems. The daily statistics also seem to be showing that. My impression is that the project throughput has been cut roughly in half, independent of OS.

Just something unexplainable? :) Work units get only tagged for a platform when the first copy, those ending in _0, is sent out, not before i.e. it's First Come, First Served. If there's work and you get something like 'There's work, but not for the your platform', it only means that all slots with available work for the project have _1 and higher work unit copies queued for different platforms. Speed of a device is NOT a distribution criteria, only if it's able to return a result before the deadline. |

We don't have availability numbers.
Results returned were at 8000 per day for a little while, briefly hit 9000, but have subsided to about 5000 per day. We haven't heard a reason for this but it could be COVID-19 related. However, I am still getting as many as I want, apart from last weekend when there was a problem at WCG. It could be that we have had desertions to folding@home because they apparently have seen a big increase in contributors. Mike |

Global statistics show no significant downturn in contributions. It's holding at around 550 CPU years/day, slightly down from 575 CPU years/day a month ago.
